1981 AMC Sx4 Additional Info:
My three year project I have done almost everything to this car.Started with a new paint job while I was building abetter motor 4.0 with 4.2 crank& fuel injection.Running 345 hp to the wheels replaced the head liner blue tooth stereo and projection headlamps.I replaced the windshield and tires on factory rims missing one center cappaint original colorThe transmission couldn't take the torque so I had it rebuilt and installed performance clutches.I installed new rear leaf springs steering stabilizer, front shocks, rotors & hub bearings.Heater core was replaced when I had the engine out both front and rear diffs new seals and bearings. Both front half shafts were replaced when I had the hub bearings out and the brakes all around. The interior seats have been custom reupholsteredBlack with red piping very nice. When we had the seats apart we rebuilt the framework this was a very weak point in these seats.I rehung the doors and installed new bushings, pinsand seals same with the rear hatch also shocks.I work overseas I have been a master mechanic for 25+ years I worked on this project for something to do on my off time. I have reached the end of this project and really am giving it away at this priceI have well over 12k in parts and outside work i.e. engine and transmission both certified. The car is fun as heck to drive hard as hell to find parts for.I have coated the undercarriage and doors and fenders with lizard skin sound proofing. It will kick into passing gear @65mph and take you to 80 mphin just a few seconds it Rocks.I have the original block head and a truck load of extras that can be taken at the same price.I bought this car from Montana not a spec of rust when I bought that's why I used it as my project. Looking for the next old but time consuming project.
