1976 AMC Pacer DL Additional Info:
This is a solid 76 Pacer with only 69649 miles and a clear title. I bought it from a couple here in Northern Michigan about 7 years ago, their son had it as his daily driver out in California. He couldn't keep it but loved it so that they brought it back to Michigan and stored it for him. They eventually had to sell it which was when I acquired it. It has never been driven in the winter that I know of and has no major rust that I can find. It was stored by me indoors since I have owned it.I am an AMC enthusiast and I got it out to one car show, but otherwise my family life is busy enough that I just don't have time for it so it's time to let it go. The max number of photos I could upload are in the listing, all of them (68 total) are in my Dropboxgallery here:

If you need to see something else, let me know and I'll take a pic and add it here. Since being stored indoors it has developed a short somewhere that I haven't been able to pinpoint so haven't started it this year. A fusible link at the starter solenoid blows out if I replace it. The last time it ran, it started and ran well, no smoke or knocking that I can recall. Everything is stock on the 258/4.2L engine and drivetrain, exhaust etc... It does have a transmission fluid leak. I replaced the oil pan which was a little rough thinking it was the problem since the fluid was dark, but the leak continued which was now red after cleaning all around that area. It does not have power brakes, but has the usual rack and pinion standard power steering for the Pacer (2nd American car to have it!). Standard air conditioning is present also, but does not blow cold. It has also had a new battery recently.
On the exterior, the body looks great and near perfect from about 20 ft, but close up there are minor issues here and there. It appears to have been an inexpensive (Maaco/Earl Schieb) paint job. Some evidence of bondo in various places, and it looks like some or parts of the car was blue at one time. There is flaking off paint in the wheel wells and underneath where spray didn't get to you can see light blue paint. Exterior trim & chrome is good, some of the chrome seems to have been sanded maybe to get over-sprayoff at some point. Where plastic is present there are some issues/cracks such as around back tail lights where screws are etc... Rubber door window glides/seals are driedand cracked/broken away also. When I got the car, the drivers door hinges were loose (common since these doors are so heavy) I replaced the bushings on that side and now door opens & closes nicely. It also seems to have an aftermarket windshield installed which has a few bubbles in it.
On the interior, it is very clean and I believe it had new carpets installed at some point. Headliner is good, and the 'Aztec' style trim seats are really good except for one spot on drivers seat where the center 'Aztec' trim has worn away. The front seats are bench type with fold forward backs. The plastic trim inside the car has a lot of little problems, cracks, breaks and fastener issues as is common for these cars after many years in the California sun. The top dash board liner is also peeling away as shown in pics. The steering column does not have tilt, I am a bigger guy and it's tough to get my legs under the large steering wheel! All gauges were functional when last driven, and aftermarket cassettestereo was installed along with door speakers & sounds good. I do have a couple of repair manuals and repair history that will go with it. Otherwise things are in remarkably good shape for a 41 year old car!!! This car will get you more thumbs up and smiles than any vehicle you've ever driven!
