I have for sale a 1979 American Motors Concord DL (middle trim level). It is beautiful. It has 65,600 original miles. It is a no-hit vehicle with alloriginal paint. It is equipped with: power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt steering wheel, LED clock, body-side molding, vinyl landau top, factory AM/FM stereo, ice cold air conditioning. Included in the sale are the original owner's manual, a shop manual and dealership brochures. It also has new/current PA state inspection.
Interior: The carpets are like new, the interior is exceptionally nice for a 38 year old car. Door panels, headliner are very nice condition. Dashboard is soft with no cracks. The glovebox door is a little warped and does not fit 100% flush, but opens andcloses just fine. The back seats are perfect. The front seats are very nice, but the driver's seat has, what looks like a small burn in it (see photos). The trunk is spotless with the original spare that looks like it has never touched the road.
Exterior: The body is straight with original paint. No bondo, no bodywork. I have included a couple pictures of imperfections. Bumpers are straight and clean. Underside is near perfect, no holes, no rust. The vinyl top is starting to show its age but there are no bubbles or rust under it.
Drivetrain: Six cylinder 258 with a 3 speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The engine has recently been tuned and runs as it should. The tires are 4 matching Hankook tires with 80-90% tread life.
There are two problems with this car:
1.The gas gauge does not work. It was bouncing around and now just sits on "E".
2. The pushbuttons for the radio do not work.
I bought this car as a father-son project for my son who just got his driver's permit. The problem is, after playing around with it, it's not much of a project and it's not quite what a 16 year old boy is interested in. So,I have been driving this car myself and I will tell you, I would not hesitateto drivethis car anywhere!! Yes, it's 38 years old, but this is a good, solid car and would be a great first car for someone or a second car for the family, or even to put in local shows (my son and I aregoing to putit in a local car show this weekend). Please ask me any questions and I will answer as quickly as possible. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks!!!
