I am struggling here. I have to sell this great old 1983 AMC Eagle 4X4 because I am leaving the country. I want to make sure she is in good hands. She came to me accidentally when I was looking for a cool older model American vehicle, and I have grown to love her. I have looked, and cannot find her equal. The interior and exterior are in fantastic condition, but let's not be superficial. She runs great. Just inspected this month, and everything is in working order. 4 wheel drive all the time. 6 cylinder will not break any speed records, but hangs out nicely at 65 once she gets there. 5 speed, shifts wonderfully, but you need to WANT to drive. Nothing automatic on her. She wants you to drive her, not coast. I try to keep her clean and empty, but also have hauled a bunch of stuff from time to time. No problem. Cold weather start? Yep. Starts up after 4 weeks in storage? Yep. AM radio? You bet. It has been a lot of fun to get heads turning and comments from everyone who remembers when the AMC ruled the road. Probably the FIRST real hybrid, long before Subaru figured it out.
Important stats follow below, but this is important: She is a DAILY DRIVER, so she is not yours yet. I would like to hand the keys to you in early July.
All original documents are in hand. Recent work includes sway bar repair, e-brake replacement, carburetor rebuild, clutch rebuild, valve cover replace, ceiling fabric replace. I have old floor mats and mud flaps, have put in new mats just because of daily use.
Currently at 85630, I estimate she will be near 86000 when sold.
The Eagle is in Exton, PA, but can be delivered anywhere from Rochester, NY to Cape May, NJ, within reason.
