It's that time of year andtime to cruise. I have a 1965 AMC Marlin for sale. It is estimated to have between $40-45k invested in the restoration. They only made 3 or 4, 4 speed Marlins in 1965. This isNOT one of them, however tastefully converted the automatic car, to the holy grail 4 speed. It has a 327 ci motor, 4 speed motor and a posi rear. It is as close to being completely restored as possible. It is the original motor, however not the original transmission. The paint and chromeare near flawless. The engine bay and interior speak for themselves. It has PS, PB and AC.
The car is in show condition in my opinion. What a piece of art, for any classic car show room or collection.
The car is part of an estate sale from a friend who passed. His wife has asked me to sell it. I have possession of the car, title and a bill of sale. There is complete transparency. This beauty is located just a few miles from Annapolis MD in the 21666 zip code. Below you will read everythingI know about the car. PLEASE READ IT ALL AND YOUR QUESTIONS MIGHT BE ANSWERED
If you have questions after reading the entire listing, please feel free to call me at 443-496-0701 anytime. My name is Rusty.
-The body-Is completely rust free, period. Not even anysurface rust on the bottom, which was prepped properly, undercoated professionally and looks factory installed.. The paint is near flawless, as is all of the chrome work. The glass has a few very minor scratches here and there. Good luck finding them. The engine bay has a few drilled holes on the inner fender. I'm not sure why, but they are small and could be plugged with black 3/16" body plugs to tastefully fill. They are not a big deal but wanted to disclose that.
-Drive Train-The motor sounds like a beast. Not much more then stock I suspect, but the dual exhaust has a very vice throaty rumble to it. It does have great acceleration. Please see the Youtube video.

-Suspension and tires- The suspension has gone through at some point. It does not float when driving. Hardly a squeak. Tires and rims look like new.
-Interior- The interior I would rate a9 or 9.5out of 10. The dash, gauges and bezels are all in great shape. The carpet is in great shape. The door panels are in good shape. All other seats and interior trimare ingreat shape, as you can see in the photos. The original radio is in there, but does not work. The car has satellite radio. All of the gauges appear to work. I thought maybe the fuel gauge was inop, but low and behold, I put $20 in it and the needle jumped right up. I wonder how close I was to pushing this tank a half mile to the gas station? Damn him.... ;-)
Discrepancies - There is a small hairline crack in a piece of trim on the front of the dash where it says MARLIN. The brakes work fine, but tend to feel a little softer than I'd like. I imagine they just need bled. The eBrake cabling needs adjusted. It wont hold the car on a slope. They grab, but not enough.
UPDATE - A self proclaimed Marlin expert has sent me this in regards to the car.
1. The door panels and armrests are not original.. Nice, though. (Yes they've been replaced)2. The seats are original style, but look to me to be not original material. Again, nice anyway.3. The air conditioning is not original, the ducts would have come out the center of the dash where the big marlin is. Looks like some original type parts were used, the control panel for the air is authentic.4. No pix of the headliner in your set, but it should be a foam material with carved lines about 1 inch apart running front to back. Being open-cell foam, all or nearly all are now ruined - if touched, they crush and turn to dust. I bet yours is now vinyl. (Correct nice vinyl headliner now)I send this only to give you the best info you can haveIMPORTANT INFORMATION
