This auction is for a very nice factory Black on Black 1969 AMX 4-Speed, 43ci V-8. This car is very rare and will make a great car for anyone to enjoy without having to fix or restore and spend money on, hese AMX cars are getting harder to find and the value is getting into the higher price range so now is the time to buy the right car for the right money before the prices get out of control.
The AMX was not only sporty and attractive, ut it introduced many “industry firsts”, n 1969 and 1970 it was named “Best Engineered Car of the Year” by the American Automotive Society of Engineers. It’s attractive, ast and very enjoyable two-seater. It’s fine performance, ood road holding and reliability, lus its sheer character, akes it a car which is a joy to be driven by the current enthusiast!
This rare AMX is a great find with only 8,293 cars ever produced in 1969, here were only 843 cars built with a 343ci and 4 speed manual this is one of those cars. This one has the correct rebuilt 343ci V-8 with a 4-speed trans. I do have some receipts for some of the work done such as the motor and trans rebuild. The Black Mink paint (code 80A) is new and looks great with the black bucket seat interior (code 931F). The interior has new seat covers and carpet, he dash looks in as new condition, he car has factory gauges including speedo, ach and the rare motor minder, ith three aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash, factory am/fm radio still in the dash that does not power up at his time, he factory seat belts are not with the car. The chrome is very nice and both bumpers are new, t has new P225/70R/15 BF Goodrich raised white letter tires mounted on AMX wheels. This AMX 2 seater sounds great with the headers and new dual exhaust with new chrome tips out the back. The trunk and floor pans look good and the underside has been undercoated. It also looks to have all original sheet metal still on the car.
The editors of Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine said that AMCs had "experienced notable value increases over the last few years--especially AMXs. Hemmings said that buyers had "only recently 'discovered' the AMX; they're now snapping them up left and right. Prices ... are on the rise, hough they still represent a relative bargain compared to many more common muscle machines,
The 100th issue of Hemmings Classic Car listed the "Top 100 American collector cars ever made" as selected by the editors of Hemmings Motor News on the basis of "the most popular models among both enthusiasts and collectors" and included the 1968-1969 AMXs for both rarity and high interest, s well as "they boast sporting lines, raditional long-hood/short-deck proportions, nd a smattering of performance options to add spice.
