1967 Alfa Romeo Spider Additional Info:
It has received mechanical restoration by myself with recent Fichel + Sachs clutch replacement along with new F&S pressure plate and throw-out bearing. I have retired with a distinctive 20 year careerwith Alfa Romeo USA largely in the National Service and Parts department asDistrict Service Manager for much of the East Coast. This car has been my dream to acquire in my retirement and to restore. Due tothe recentpurchase of a new 2016 Airstream, y wife and I have chosen to "trade" theDuetto forour new camping trailer to travel America. I am sorry and torn to seethe Duettogo but... hopefullyif sold toa passionate Alfa Romeo enthusiast such as myself...it will be easier for me to part with it.....
The car is Pininfarina 514 red and has been used for advertising shoots andhas been exhibited at the Greenwich Concours in 2012. See it at the upcoming 2016 Greenwich Concours on June 5th.
The vehicle has hundred of new OEM parts. It has a new windshield, iper arms and blade assemblies. It had just last week received a completely new Made in Italy OEM-design exhaust system including all new bushings and pads from International Alfa Parts.
It is original and sympathetically restored to retain its original appearance in every respect. New Continental 165x15 tires with restored original factory production steel "volcano-style" wheels. Restored radiator, eater core, ew water pump, ll new hoses and new fan belt, OS and rare original Lodge 2HL plugs, ewly adjusted valves, ew engine gaskets and seals including new rear main seal, ew transmission input and output shaft seal, ew center support bearing and bushing set, ew OEM rubber pads under the front springs, ll new suspension bushings, ew steering components, rease nipples, ew rubber caps. Completely restored interior door panels and original new seat cushions, adio blanking plate (Pininfarina), ew GTA-style MOMO steering wheel, ew OEM style interior flooring insulation from Classic Alfa (UK), ll new weatherstrips throughout the car and the trunk, ew original mats in passenger compartment and trunk, ew fuel sending unit, ew FACET 4 psi auxiliary fuel pump and ethanol-resistant fuel lines throughout. All receipts available for inspection and review. Perfectly-closing doors and extremely solid rust-free chassis throughout,,,see exception noted below. Excellent chrome, ew headlight covers (Carello). New front wheel bearings and seals. New alignment, leaned and painted original fuel tank. Original paint in engine compartment and trunk, nddoor seal area. Undercarriage painted by hand with Rustoleum and protected by Boeshield wax/petroleum sealant. Red Line lubricants used in transmission and rear differential, hell 20-50 used exclusively in engine. No smoke, o drips, o leaks. New rear axle shaft bearing and seal. New spark plug wires, oints, ondenser, otor. New brake pads.
This Alfa Romeo Duetto could generallybe considered as a Driver 2 class overall paint quality car. It does have the 1969 Spider headrests on the seatbacks that I wanted to protect against possible 'whiplash' neck injuries if hit in the rear while driving. It also features the period oil filter adapter to permit the use of modern and more efficient Fram PH 7 canister filters and the same distributor housing cover as used on later models.
The price is $39,700 firm and non-negotiable ...to be sold separately will be a host of valuable support spares...some very hard or impossible to find such as rebuilt Bosch generator, ewly rebuilt Burman steering box by Highwoods Alfa (UK) and various other important spares...such as wheels and tires.
Cosmetically it is in very presentable condition but will eventually need the replacement of the LR wheel arch ...which I have imported to render the panel ready for installation. What little metal work involved in that repair does not detract with its show appearance but should be considered down the road somewhere. I have not been in any hurry to have that small panel 'stitched' into the body.
This 1967 Duetto is ready for a cross-country trip at a moment's notice. Right now.
