I bought this Alfa in1985 while living in Honolulu. A previous owner had brought it to Hawaii from Ohio; I did not then realize that the odometer had gone past 100,000 miles. Large rust holes in the floor were patched and other repairs put it in good driving condition.
After I moved to California in 1985, the Alfa was painted red andthe left front fender accident damage was repaired.
Other Southern California Alfa maintenance specialists provided good service as I moved several times for better employment.
"Alfa Only" in Glendalerebuilt the engine and transmission in 1995. It's been driven only 20,000 miles since the rebuild.
An easily-removed roll-bar was installed to provide attachment points for shoulder belts. A plexiglass shield that can be attached to the roll-bar to reduce wind turbulence is included.
My restoration objective was to return this Alfa to its original specifications. Except for the color change, it now is very close to "as delivered. Remaining "non-original" details that can be remedied are:
- 165HR14 tires
- Door Panels
- Rubber floor and trunk coverings.
The sale includes:
- All records
- A rare OEM hardtop and a storage rack
- A premium soft-lined cover, a near-original tool roll and two sets of keys
- Back issues of AROC and ARA magazines.
This Alfa has been entered many times in Burbank car shows. Recently it was in the 2025 San Marino Motor Classic. Then it appearedat the "The Best of France and Italy" in November 2025.It has always been garaged.
The Alfa has also been shown at Concorso Italiano in Monterey several times; it appears in the 2010 "Overhead Cams" magazine aerial photo. Photos of the Alfa in the Laguna Seca paddock with other Italian cars are in the photo gallery.
I've been a member of AROC and ARA since 1986.
