Starting from a worthy candidate, the car received a multi-year, bare-metal, ground-up rebuild of nearly every area of the car. Particular attention was given to competition preparation. The work was done under the guidance of vintage racing pro, Scott Rubin at his McGee Motorsports facility. The total build exceed $100,000.The car was upgraded to Veloce specs. The drivetrain was built to 1962 SCCA rules, with a 1.6-liter aluminum dual cam engine with two 40 DCOE Weber carburetors. The transmission is a 5-speed Alfa transmission. The wheels are special aluminum Alfa TZ type wheel. The undercarriage is immaculate with period-correct Girling front disc brakes and Koni shocks at all four corners.The Sprint meets current competition safety standards with a fully integrated roll cage, 3-zone fire system, 6-point racing harnesses, competition seats (period style), fuel cell, and exterior electric cut-off. The car meets the qualification standards for SVRA Gold Medallion status, which includes automatic entry into all national SVRA vintage events.The car is eligible for most vintage racing events, rallies, and tours It has competed in an impressive array of events including the California Mille Rally, the Rolex Monterey Historic Races, and the SVRA National Vintage Championship.
