Vehicle Details

This 1974 Alfa Romeo spider was

Bought by my grandmother new from griswolds in Berkeley in 1975.

It was handed down to my mom, but then Sold to a friend of the family when my brother turned 16. Eventually was Left Parked outside due to fuel injection issues. I got the car back around 2007. Around that time I sent it up to vintage customs in the PNW to get bodywork and paint done.

They disassembled the car and did sheetmetal repairs on the floors & rockers and repainted it in its original silver color. I also sourced a fiberglass hardtop and we had that painted to match.

While the car was in the northwest getting its bodywork done, I also had the suspension, and brakes restored by group 2 Motorsports.

I had a good job at the time and I was doing checkbook restorations on 3 alfas.

I got the car back in 2009 and that was the year my dad died. I quit my job at Tesla motors to start my own businesses and the cars went into storage. I got married/had a second kid/ and got divorced. Needless to say time dragged on and i now recognise my ability to finish the restoration is past.

Its been Stored indoors in my warehouses for the last 13 years. I just pulled it out, washed it and dusted off the boxes of parts. For these photos.

The paint has held up really well. There are definitely some scuffs and imperfections, the bodywork isn’t show-quality. But it’s overall in very good to great condition. The photos are a good representation of the cars condition.

As far as I know, I have all the parts accounted for in boxes less these known missing items:

1)Convertible top metal frame (a new convertible top fabric is included.)

2. engine and transmission.

3. Seats and floor mats

These items should be easily sourced or harvested from a donor car.. I would contact larry or larry junior from Alfa Parts Exchange.

There is a bonus set of chromadora rims with a deeper fin shape and center hub. Really lightweight and more aggressive than the original chromadoras that are on the car.

Certainly a project but a great start.

I have documentation for $9k of bills from vintage customs

And $2900 of suspension and brake work from group 2.

The title has been missing since i got the car in 2007. But i do have a folder with original owners manual and some original sales documents.

I have loads more photos I can send on request. Luigi( at )Oldaniartstudio c0m

I am also selling a 1962 giulietta spider rolling chassis and parts.

And a 1964 giulia Ti column-shift that was restored, but then t-boned on the street. It has excellent running gear and all the replacement sheet metal.
