1992 Alfa Romeo 164 L Additional Info:
Up for sale is my father's 1992 Alfa Romeo 164L. My dad bought the car in June of 2012 from an Alfa Romeo mechanic and drove it only a few times. He passed away unexpectedly in November of last year and the car has been in storage for the past several months. The car runs and drives well, and is very clean for its age inside and out. I have listed any/all issues that I am aware of below. I have a FL title in hand.
The Good:
Car was professionally repainted with a quality base/clear immediately after my dad purchased it. It was originally a maroon color and is now GM Dark Polo Green metallic. The car has been garage kept since the paint was completed and rarely driven. The only indication of the color change is in the engine bay beneath the strut towers. All of the door jambs, trunk, etc were painted.
Runs, drives, and brakes well
No leaks that I saw while I had it on a lift
100% Florida vehicle throughout its life, zero rust or corrosion issues
Matching General tires in very good condition
The Bad:
The A/C blows cool but not cold. The compressor runs, everything in the system appears to be functioning, but the air is not as cold as it should be. I suspect that the system needs to be evacuated and recharged as it has been in storage for quite some time and may have lost some of its charge.
The radio seems to have a mind of its own and doesn't always turn on. This could be as simple as a bad electrical connection or perhaps the radio needs to be replaced.
The power seat on the passenger side won't move forward and backward. The seat back moves and the seat does move up and down. I would guess that the switch contacts are corroded or the motor is stuck from rarely being used.
The right rear power window does not work. I suspect a switch/connection issue.
The odometer reads 108xxx but is not currently working. I seem to remember it working when my dad bought the car, but it isn't now.
The check engine light turns on and off randomly while driving the car. The engine runs well and doesn't do anything unusual, so I suspect a corroded or loose electrical connection.
The windshield washer fluid light stays on.
The cruise control does not work.
This is everything that I have identified that is wrong with the car. I do not have time to fix any of it myself or I would.
