1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio Additional Info:
This is a no reserve auction. The high bidder at the end of the auction wins the car. It is that simple.
This is the Quadrifoglio model (which you probably already knew) which was introduced in 1986, with many aesthetic tweaks, including sideskirts, mirrors, new front and rear spoilers, hard rubber trunk mounted spoiler, unique 15" alloys (with like new tires) and removable hardtop. The Quadrifoglio featured different interior trim including red carpets and gray leather seats with red stitching. There were a total of 2,598 Quadrifoglios made from 1986 to 1989.
This Alfa looks and runs great. I have a stack of receipts for work done to the car to document the mileage and work over the years. This car is definitely a driver. It starts up on the first try every time, shifts through gears easily with no grinding and the clutch was replaced just a little over 1,000 miles ago. It has plenty of power and had the head rebuilt 5,000 miles ago. Brakes are good with new front pads and rotors that have 1,000 miles on them. It does not leak any oil.
The body looks good with a scuff hear and there. The hard top is in good condition. The soft top is there--but should be replaced if you plan to use it as it has a large tear on the driver side and is starting to separate in a few spots. The soft frame is good shape and a new top is $200 to $300 on eBay. There is paint discoloration on the windshield cowl on the passenger side. There is a rust spot next to the rear license plate and one on the inside of the front door jamb on the passenger side. The radio works great--although you may want new speakers. The interior is in excellent condition with very little wear. The leather seats are nice and plush. The dash looks good--with one minor crack that is hard to see. It could use a new black leather shift boot. One of the round heater vents is missing a flap.
I have a lot more pictures. If there is something you want to see--shoot me an email.
If you need to have the car shipped--shipping is very easy. I can help coordinate that at your cost. Cost estimates are $400 from Northern California to Washington, $600 for Southern California. $750 for most cities west of Rockies, $850 west of the Mississippi River, and between $1000 and $1200 if you are on the east coast.
This is an as-is, where-is auction. No warranties are expressed or implied. It is a 30 year old car. Expect it to have a scratch here and there, a mark, a strange noise, maybe even a rattle. That is the charm of owning a 30 year old car. This is not a brand new Toyota Camry.
Could you get in this and drive it New York? Absolutely! Might something break in the middle of Nebraska and leave you stranded? Absolutely! It is a 30 year old car and anything can happen at any time. Consider it an adventure. I took it on a 4-hour trip a few months back and it performed flawlessly.
It has a clean title in my name and is ready to be signed over to the new buyer.
