I am offering for sale my extremely nice 1979 Alfa Romeo Spyder Veloce that has undergone a metal bumper conversion. This Alfa was purchased by me in November of 2016. I could not pass it up due to it's outstanding condition. The car was bought new in southern California (Santa Monica) where it spent many years before migrating to North Carolina and then here to Florida. During my two and a half years of ownership, I have done the following services/upgrades; rebuilt thermostatic actuator $300 (from Ingram Enterprises), new battery $125, new Michelin tires $350, front end alignment $60, replaced door weatherstrips $150, new front brakes $800 (calipers, rotors, pads), and most recently new Ansa muffler ($150). The only appearance change that I made to the Alfa was in doing the bumper conversion from the ugly black rubber factory units to the earlier version metal bumpers. I was very fortunate in having located a set of early take-offs that most likely came from a 1971-1972 which were in almost new condition. My total cost for this conversion was $2,350 and well worth the price, in my opinion. The Alfa has had apparently only one repaint which was done in the original factory color and done very well. All sheetmetal appears to be factory original and shows no signs of rust or repair. The driver's door glass still has a factory sticker on it. The dash pad has a crack just to the right of center and thus the reason for the carpeted overlay. The engine has not been altered and is complete with California emission equipment. The interior had been redone by a previous owner in a very closely matching vinyl. The boot cover is factory original and it is in excellent condition. The convertible top is canvas and also is in excellent condition ( could be original ). This Alfa starts right up, runs, drives, and stops very well (remembering, of course, that it is almost 40 years old). Due to the condition of this car, I have no doubt that is has always been garaged and that it has nothing but the best of care and service.I would not hesitate in describing this Alfa Romeo as being very high driver quality. Included with the sale of this car are several service manuals, correct owner's manual, and a notebook containing a very complete owner's/service record. I have included as many pictures as the listing would allow but, many more are available. Please ask questions either by email or by phone contact (386-299-4005). I will NOT respond to texts. Do not bid on this car if you do not plan on completing the transaction. The Alfa is being sold "as is", "where is" without warranty either written or implied.Transportation/shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The vehicle and title will not be released until purchase funds are secured in my bank account.
