I was in California a few years ago and picked up this red beauty from a local dealer. It was an impulse buy, s I'm a Buick guy at heart. This car looks great and drives great, ut as time went by I found myself going back to the luxury comforts of the Buick.
This was not the hatch's fault. Mechanically, enjoyed the smooth ride, eliability, nd 'uniqueness' factor. To that last point, 've seen approximately one like it here in South Austin.
I had a friend in high school who owned a late 80's Acura Legend. He drove it like a mad man, ut I always felt safe in the passenger's seat. My feeling of security had nothing to do with his driving (which was life-threatening), ut everything to do with the confidence that this car could handle anything. I'll never forget the day he ran over a bunch of orange cones because he didn't want to merge. That Legend took it like a champ. I mention that because when I sit behind the wheel of this Integra, get that same feeling of security. There's something about these late 80's/early 90's Acuras that seems to celebrate the glory days of Honda...at least for me.
If I were going to keep it, would replace the antenna (which is broken). I'd also probably have the fender/bumper touched up. You'll see what I mean with the pictures. Here is a list of the most common questions I've received from interested parties:
Why are you selling this vehicle?
I bought the car a few years ago, hen it was at 88k. It was my daily driver for about 6 months, ut then I switched back over to my Park Avenue. That's a huge part of why I'm selling - I learned that I prefer a good luxury sedan instead of a sport vehicle.
When was the timing belt last changed?
The timing belt was changed at 63k.
Is it still reliable?
Mechanically, he only things I've changed are the oil and battery. I was commuting about 10 miles per day, otal, efore switching back to my other car. The ride is smooth, nd I haven't experienced any slipping or jerking of the transmission. I think this car is the definition of 'daily driver'.
Are you aware of any maintenance that is needed on the car?
The only maintenance I can foresee are regular oil changes. Cosmetically, he antenna needs to be replaced and bumper/fender touched up.
How long have you owned the vehicle?
I've owned the car since March 2014, nd used it as my daily driver for the first 6 months before switching back to my Buick.
Do you know how well the car was maintained by the previous owners?
I am the third owner. According to the records I received, he vehicle was maintained regularly by the previous two owners.
Has the car been involved in any wrecks? You mentioned the front bumper needs to be touched-up. What caused the damage?
When I began looking at the Acura, purchased the Autocheck records and hired an independent inspector to take a look. Neither report indicated it had been in any wrecks, nd I've had no accidents. As far as the chipping on the bumper/fender areas, his was the condition when I purchased it. I assumed I would eventually have it touched up, ut never got around to it.
Is this a nonsmoker car?
Yes.
What condition are the tires in?
The tires have at least 75% tread, nd are relatively new.
Do all of the power options work?
The windows, ocks, nd all electronic options work.
Is the check engine light on?
No.
Have you changed any parts recently?
I changed the battery in 2013.
