1947 Willys Jeep Station Wagon Additional Info:

Thank you for looking at the auction of this nice 1947 Willys Overland Jeep Station Wagon. This little beauty has been enjoyed for many years at cruise-ins, arades, nd weddings. My wife and I have been the fourth owners of this vehicle for the last nine years. It is in good shape for a vehicle that is almost 70 years old. When I bought the vehicle, e had grand plans of restoring the vehicle back to it's former glory of 1947. To that end, everal NOS and new parts were purchased for items that were missing or needed attention. Used parts were collected for those items that could not be found new or NOS. With younger kids, e didn't have a chance to do a frame off restoration, ut this is a perfect candidate. We did have a chance to replace the shocks, eaf springs, ll of the wiring harness, uel lines, uel pump, eadliner, ummer seat covers, nd interior panels. There are more areas that could use attention, ut the vehicle is still being driven during warmer weather.
Now for the some background:
The wagon was involved in an incident with the first owner on the right fender and cowl. There is evidence of it on the inside of the vehicle. the passenger window is cracked, ut the windows are always down when we drive, o I usually forget it is cracked. The rare "Willys Overland" script door sills show some rot from the damage of this incident.
The rear tailgate is solid on the lower hinge. The upper hinge does have some rust with a few pin holes that would allow water to pass through. We do not drive the vehicle in rain or if there is threat of rain.
There was a repair made to the throttle pedal bracket where the floor and bracket were worn out and rotted. A new floor panel was purchased but not installed because it would be missing the floor stampings. The new panel will be included with the sale. Otherwise, he body is solid.
New leaf springs and shocks were installed with new bolts and brackets. Original leaf springs are included with the sale.
The sale includes the original steering wheel and horn ring. My wife didn't like the look of the original wheel and wanted a new one. Unfortunately, he "Burnt Coffee" color used in the original first batch of Jeep Station Wagons is not available new, o an Ivory wheel was bought instead. There are companies that will restore the original wheel to the original color.
The sale also includes a NOS hood latch cable in the original Burnt Coffee color. The original wagons had a functioning hood latch but that changed after the first year. The second owner installed the external Jeep hood latches. There is also a new Overdrive cable, verdrive Switch, nd original style radiator hoses and tubes.
There is a used with a new core factory heater that has not been installed. The vehicle was bought new with a dealer installed aftermarket Trade-wind gasoline burning heater. I didn't want the risk of a gasoline heater but didn't have a chance to install the original Willys heater with the matching Burnt Coffee knobs.
The original floor mat and interior panels will go with the vehicle. New wood panels were made off the originals.
This vehicle was missing the 7th seat (aka Mother-In-Law seat) in the rear. I sourced all the parts but did not get a chance to weld the brackets to the frame. The seat will be included as well.
This has been a great little woody and gets all sorts of attention everywhere we go. Feel free to ask any questions. Vehicle is available for show upon request. I have a clear title in hand. Vehicle is sold as is and where is. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.
