DESCRIPTION:

  • Beautifully Restored 1974 Volvo 142 GL (Grand Luxe), 2 Dr, 5 passenger seating, 4 sp Auto, PS, Inline 4 Cyl Engine. Estimated 17/24 MPG, 188kOriginal miles. Lots of restoration & repair work done to engine, body and interior including; sanding, primer & new paint, new seats & carpet installed. New B20 Carb & much more listed in detail below. Runs great! No known major mechanical issues. Been stored in covered bay. A real head turner. One of a kind. Must sell due to illness in family.Clean title on hand.

  • Interior Body:Interior Body: Removed old carpet and installed new Taupe carpeting over top thick rubber sealer applied to floorboards. Installed Taupe seats in vgcondition from other vintage Volvo. Cup holder installed. Interior roof clean with no blemishes. Original manual windows in VG cond with no cracks/chips.Applied new seals around windows, doors, hood & trunk. Original working AM/FM radio, heater, dash components and interior lights all working lasttested. Dash in GC except for 2 cracks that are hardly noticeable from front seat. Drivers side door panel torn.

  • Exterior: Restored body with multi stage bodywork to include; several stages of sanding, filling, primer, paint, etc. New paint color is California Orange.Similar but not identical to the original paint color still shown in certain inconspicuous areas like under hood & inside trunk. Prior restore, had mostlysurface rust on outer body. Very little rust on undercarriage. Ziebart still intact. Areas like inside of trunk had more rust so after sanding and filling, put onnew seals around trunk hood opening, repaired inside of trunk with bolted metal plates and covered with black sealant. Replaced bumper, some lights& covers.

  • Engine & Mechanics:Changed finicky fuel injection carburetor, to a new Weber B20 carb with electric choke, new oil pump, replaced starter, replacedfuel lines, new dual pressure regulators, new spark plugs, new fuel pump, new cam and lifters, new battery, new wipers, new brake pads, new caliper,new head gasket set for following: (cylinder head, water pump, transmission, valve cover gasket, oil pump). Valves adjusted, engine cleaned, gas tankcleaned & sealed with POR-15, changed transmission & filter. Tested power steering, brakes, headlights, tail lights, hazards, front and rear defrost andwipers, at the time of ad all working. Good exhaust & tires with tread.

  • Terms for Description: We've restored this classic automobile according to our needs and preferences which may not among other things, address every area of the car or include only genuine model parts. Some parts remain original or unrestored.While attempting to accurately portray this automobile, we understand that each person's interpretation and standards may differ so we ask that the buyer either inspect and test drive the vehicle personally or send a 3rd party, to ensure satisfaction to the features, condition and value, prior to purchase. Seller shall not be responsible for any incorrect description, authenticity or defect and makes no guarantees or warranties of any kind. We are unable to forecast the future operation of any component. If you drive it­ then it may break and require mechanical repairs. It is a 44 year old classic automobile and as so, it may not drive the same or require the same maintenance as a new automobile. Online images may differ from the actual item due to variables such as computer settings, lighting, background and distance, etc.

  • Payments for Deposit & Balance: Purchase will not be effective and the vehicle will remain available to other buyers, untill the $500 non-refundable deposit is received. By submitting the deposit, buyer agrees to the terms set forth here. By request, we may arrange to hold the vehicle off the market for a day or two to allow travel to view the vehicle otherwise, it will remain available until deposit has been received.Paypal accepted for the $500 deposit or other payment method as mutually agreed upon prior to purchase. Payment for the remaining balance through Paypal or other similar method that charges the seller a fee based on the monies received, will not be accepted unless negotiated and agreed upon in writing. The fees for such a transaction would be substantial at $200-$300 so we will negotiate other final payment methods. Other possible payment methods to pay the remaining balance may include: Cashier's Check, Certain Bank Transfers, U.S. Money Order or cash at pickup. Payment arrangements should be agreed upon prior to purchase. Certain payment methods, might require payment prior to pickup to ensure it has ample time to clear unless the buyer has a bank local to seller and can meet at bank on day of pickup to verify funds. If funds are not able to be verified or released before the pickup, then the car will not be released until that time. Bill of sale and transfer of title will be available at the time of final payment and pickup or shipping.

  • Shipping or Pickup: Buyer is responsible to arrange pickup or shipping. Unless otherwise negotiated, buyer's from the home state of WA, will have 3 weeks from the date of deposit to make full payment and pickup or shipping. Out of state buyers will have 1 month. We can likely work with buyer on the timeline as long as we are informed and agree to the terms in writing.
