1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Additional Info:

For sale is a 19 81 Volkswagen Rabbit pickup diesel. AKA caddy. This vehicle was completely restored using the front end of a Cabriolet. It's hard to find these trucks with the round Euro headlights. All of the work was professionally done and seamless about seven years ago and it was driven by my wife everyday on the highway back and forth to work. The car has been in storage for 2 years since she passed away. Now it is time to sell it and give it a new home. This is a used vehicle with minor imperfections throughout. It is overall in Nice condition but it has various paint chips on the body one picture shows a close-up of some paint chips near the wheel well and one on the tailgate however I'm selling this vehicle in as-is condition. The diesel motor is a 1.6 na that was a factory rebuilt motor that I installed and has approximately 90000 miles on it.. The manual transmission is a 5-speed and gets excellent fuel economy . The Vehicle had a custom Dash built for it when it was restored. It is a digital dash for thespeedometerwhich also includes electronic control system for thewvo system. The wvo system is located under the hood and uses a TIG welded aluminum tank a machine filter head and hydraforce valves. Additionally there is also an Extended range tank located where the spare tire once was. It holds approximately 25 gallons. I am also including the original - Dash andspeedometerso a person couldchange it back if they wanted to . Also mounted in the dash is a Jensen CD player with 7 inch screen and GPS navigation . My wife and I often use this car to drive to Montana to see my daughter. And we could fill the main tank and the extra tank and the one under the hood and be able to make it round trip from Wisconsin to Montana and back without having to buy fuel. The tires are new and have less than a hundred miles on them. The interior is in good condition the door panels were remade and hand-sewn buy my wife. The headliner was also replaced and the dash has no cracks the carpeting was replaced with new carpeting. The seats have minor wear and tear on them but have sheepskin seat covers over the top. overall it's a very good vehicle and I would not be afraid to drive this thing anywhere. Call if you have questions or want to see it. 715-421-9619 Doug
