1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI SPORT Additional Info:
983VW Rabbit GTI.The car was has been in storage since 2008.
This is a west coast car and as you can see from the pictures just has surface rust. It is very solid.
The engine turns over and will start on starter fluid. The fuel pump does not make any noise so I suspect it is ceased. It does not run and can roll easily.Will need to be shipped or picked up. I can help load.I have easy access for a transport trailer as I live on a quier county road.The car has 1 key.It has the original manuals inthe glove box. See pictures. No radio.
I have not washed or polished the cars so you can see what shape it has been in storage.
The odometer say 035999 miles.I do not have the history of the car so I can’t veriy it.I am selling it as currently restoring 2 other vehicles and have do no have the time or fund to restore this one.The passage side rear corner has a dent, you can see somebody fixed it . The front right looks have been tapped and the fender has a sall kink in it. You can see it near the top and above the tire on the fender where the paint itchipped off.Maybesome back into it. I can't see much damage. You can see it in the main photo.
The carpet and headliners are gone. As you can see the door cards and armrest are missing or in bad shape. I purchases a great condition used set with handles, etc . You can see them sitting on the hood.The from seats are mk2 seats not the Mk1.They fit and are more comfortable but not correct for the year.
I have not tried to open the sun roof but it was taped on top to protect it from the elements.The front windshield is cracked.The dash is in very good condition. I could only find one1 inch crack.
It has all 4 proper rims, plus another set of matching rims. ( all come with the car).The tire are bad and have slow leaks. But will hold air good enough for transport.
The car is sold as is, where is. You will need to arrange shipping for pickup.
