1971 VW Camper Van

As you may know, this is the last year of the classic “doghouse” dual-port engined vans. It is the first year to have front disc brakes. It has the solid top with a removable sunroof. I greatly prefer this model over the pop tops. Consider that they do not have leak-prone seals and have more aerodynamic/aesthetically pleasing lines. Nice enough to be greatly appreciated at automotive events, but also a very practical everyday vehicle.

Rebuilt engine with about 15K by All VW of Mountain View, California. It has a rebuilt transaxle with about 14K miles on it. German Transaxle of Bend Oregon did the rebuild.

Installed by D&M Automotive of Portland, Oregon.

Running strong and ready to hit the road in style.Selling with some reluctance, as is usually the case with those who have experienced these vehicles.I really have too many cars. Be ready for the constant approbation you will receive in this iconic ride.

Finally, as a camping vehicle, and as Leonardo suggests, "The ultimate sophistication is simplicity."
