1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Additional Info:

BEAUTIFUL 1971 KARMANN GHIA
Currently located in South Florida - Local pickup preferredCome by for a test drive!
This car is a great daily driver. Almost everything is as it came from the factory with exceptions noted or pictured. A move is forcing me to sell this super-fun car :(
If there is something specific you would like to see, please let me know and I can send you photos.
The car has the following:
  • Polished Porsche alloy wheels
  • New tires
  • Set of 5 original factory wheels with good tires
  • Set of 4 beauty rings and hubcaps and lug bolts (OK condition with various dents. See photos) for factory wheels
  • New CV shaft (I forgot which side)
  • New front calipers
  • New master cylinder
  • New front brake pads
  • New front brake rotors
  • New fuel tank (needs a new sender)
  • New 34 PICT-3 carburator
  • New tie rods and tie-rod ends (needs final alignment-I used a measuring tape)
  • New door panels
  • New window regulators
  • New stereo (USB, Aux in, Bluetooth) with vintage styling
  • Great headliner
  • OK front seats for being 48 years old!
  • Good back seat
  • Amp with Blaupunkt subwoofer
  • LED headlights
  • Factory chrome still installed (1 small piece missing)
  • Fiberglass center lower console with volt meter, USB charging ports and a lighter/power outlet
  • Factory heater boxes
  • Doghouse fan shroud
  • New distributor
  • New battery
  • Working factory dash clock!!!
The following items are missing, non-functioning or somwhow problematic:
  • Rear window defroster switch - missing. I don't know if the rear window defroster works or not
  • Winshield washer fluid system - status unkown - I never carried a spare tire or hooked it up to one
  • Brake rod needs adjusting and brakes need bled. I only have one arm and can do neither of these by myself
  • Fuel sender gasket leaks. Do not fill the tank to the top until this is replaced
  • Probably needs an alignment. After installing the tie rods and tie rod ends I aligned it with a measuring tape. It's pretty close but could be better. I couldn't find a shop that could do it because they wanted to attach something to the back wheels to aling the front wheels.
  • Starter solenoid needs replacing. Works sometimes but not often anymore.
  • Various scratches in the 48 year old paint
  • Missing front hood emblem (see photos)
  • Carpet needs glued down in some places
  • Some rips in front seats (see photos)
  • Heater and defroster cables needs adjusting - some heat comes out but not a lot
  • Sun visors are not installed. I have everything except the metal clips and springs needed to put them back on
  • Missing rear torsion cover/beauty cover on one side (see photos)
The following extra parts and items also come with the car:
  • New glasspack tuck-away exhaust system
  • New 40IDF 2bbl center mount carburator with installation kit and air filter
  • New cylinder heads (2)
  • Factory speedometer
  • Side mirror
  • Distributor with pertronix electronic ignition
  • New CV axle
  • New rubber brake lines - front and rear
  • New spare throttle cable
  • New spare clutch cable
  • New Aluminum degree pulley
  • New W-100 camshaft with New aluminum gear
  • New lightened 8 dowel flywheel
  • New cool tin
  • New factory deflectors
  • New pushrods and tubes
  • Engine rebuild gasket set
  • New oil pump with full flow filter
I've been collecting parts to build a bigger motor but now I've run out of time. I've also been gathering parts to make this car super safe and reliable but haven't had the time to install them. Drive this great car home today!
I've included some basic pictures with the factory wheels and with the Porsche alloys. I'll take more pictures and upload them soon.
This car is still registered in Arizona and I have the Arizona title in-hand. I never registered it in Florida because I always planned to drive it back to Arizona, but life has changed my plans.
I've done my best to honestly represent this car. I may have missed something but this is not intentional. Come by to check it out or take it for a test drive.
