    Viva Las Vegas Autos Presents...

Probably the lowest mile, most original and extremely rare Wolfsburg Edition 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Camper Westfalia with 39k ORIGINAL miles. Wearing all of it’s original Wolfsburg Edition only factory paint in pristine condition. Dressed in all of it’s factory original Wolfsburg Edition interior with the RARE “Middle Seat” making it the only factory 6 passenger camper ever. The mechanical and cosmetic condition of this Westy is probably the finest left on the planet…unless Volkswagen has one in their museum. Once you see the pictures covering every inch of this Westy, you’ll surely want it in your pristine collection too.
The Westfalia throughout it’s history was an admirable example of German ingenuity. With the sturdy performance of a Volkswagen, and the inviting comforts of home, This Vanagon features an original and tasteful color coordinated interior that's packed with all of the amenities. Take your time to sift through ALL of our photos of this incredible, all-original Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia as we take you through our "open house experience".

Viva Las Vegas Autos Known History...

The 1984 Westfalia Camper was the first year Volkswagen introduced a water-cooled 1.9L engine, otherwise known as the "Wasserboxer". The Wasserboxer was a 116ci, 83hp motor, featuring a Bosch Digi-jet electronic fuel injection system. Because the motor is mounted near the trans-axle in the back, certain accommodations were made to reach basic engine components. This includes the oil filler tube, dipstick, and power-steering fluid reservoir, all conveniently located behind the flip-down license plate door.

This Wolfsburg Edition Vanagon not only has rare features throughout the vehicle, but those features are in impeccable condition. Every rubber seal around every window shows no signs of sun-damage or dryness, just some of the chrome trim has sunburned. Commonly on high mileage Westfalias, rust will appear behind the front bumper, on the lower body seams, around the front and rear windows, and certainly on the frame. This car, however, shows absolutely no signs of rust in any of those areas. It has a unique Wolfsburg Edition only, two-tone paint job, consisting of a Merian Brown base with a Toscana Beige top trim. This Wolfsburg Edition package and color scheme continues inside the vehicle, including a rarely seen, removable middle bench seat in rich velour upholstery. The front seats are supported on a swivel system to create an area for dining. The pop-top takes you to the "second floor" of the Vanagon, revealing a spacious area with room for two, and a viewing panel out the front. The pop-top is effortlessly raised, and the paneled area folds out with ease. The kitchenette features a two-burner stove, sink and refrigerator, and boundless storage space throughout this incredible home on wheels. The condition of the interior on this Vanagon is as close to “New” condition as it gets. The only broken item on the interior is the passenger side lighted vanity mirror where the casing behind the mirror is broken, but still in tact. Cabinetry, tables, drapes, carpet and paneling all appear like new, and feel like it too.

    Viva Las Vegas Autos Preparations...

In 1993, I bought my first Westfalia camper, a 1991 Westfalia GL with only 9300 miles on it and I have been addicted ever since. Having two kids at the time with a third on the way, I searched forever to find a 1984-85 Wolfsburg Edition camper with the middle row seat. Well I sold my 91 in 2002 when I started my business and continued to search for the Wolfsburg 6 passenger Westfalias. After owning and selling over 30 VW Campers of all vintages, THIS is my first 6 Passenger Westfalia and I am pretty dang sure it’s the finest left on the planet. I know how hard it is getting to find great Westfalia campers that even have close to 150k miles, with most well over 200k these days. Finding one under approaching 100k is like finding a needle in the haystack. Finding one with documented miles under 40k miles has odds less that wining the big Lottos. AND YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT ONE!
Whenever we buy a vehicle like this, our first steps of getting it ready for market are a thorough visual, mechanical and functional inspection. We get in every car, turn every knob, and push every button to ensure that it works. With such an abundant interior in this Vanagon, this part of our inspection was deemed an extremely crucial component. Luckily for us, The previous owners took such incredible care of this vehicle. We replaced the rear door struts for better support. The factory original windshield had a crack all the way across and even with factory original stickers and makers on it – but we replaced it. The previous owner replaced the wheels with the GoWesty 16 Alloy replacements and dressed them in BF Goodrich tires that are new. We also resewed the camper tent’s screen since we noticed in our pictures it had come unsewn. We replaced the fresh water inlet door we lost on our 430 mile trip back to Las Vegas. We also bought and installed the Fuel Tank reseal kit from GoWesty as fuel leakage on dry lines is common to Vanagons. With only a few other cosmetic OEM replacements, everything functions appropriately, from door latches to the refrigerator. You could say this Vanagon is "move in ready."

Whenever a vehicle first arrives at our shop, the first thing we do is put the car on a lift and do a undercarriage powerwash. This frees the vehicle of any dirt and grime underneath, as well as reveals any issues mechanically that need to be addressed. This car still has its factory original cosmoline undercoating, which helps protect against rust and any chemical deterioration that one would find on the road. This has helped protect the underside of this vehicle, making it rust free. The vehicle starts, runs, and drives perfectly - comfortably. It sounds like new. We installed a new muffler too since the old on was just that, old.

A majority of Volkswagen GL Campers seen today have seen better years. Finding an all original Rare Wolfsburg Edition in the same condition as this one? Impossible. This Westfalia is all original (except for the wheels and tires), and is RUST FREE. It has not been in any accidents, nor has it had any surgeries. We attempted to find the faceplate for the sound system, however, we were unable to find one that fits in a timely manner. The owners manual for the radio comes with the car, as well as the customizability of the new owner to either change it to a more modern aftermarket stereo or find the original. As an online dealer, we always try to disclose and expose any abnormalities with our vehicles to ensure our buyers that they are truly getting the vehicle that they are paying for. Take the time to sift through ALL of our photos in order to make your own assessment of how truly remarkable this 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Camper Westfalia Wolfsburg Edition really is. It is an impossible rare gem to find in this condition and low miles, needing absolutely nothing but an enthusiastic new owner to enjoy it.

    Carfax Discrepancy/Information

Below you will find a copy of the Carfax report for this Volkswagen Vanagon that has serious errors. Where or who made these errors are not clear but mathimatics and the back up of hard documentation are clear, the report is in serious error and not consistent with the condition or documentation of the Vanagon. Right off the bat, Carfax states the title is a “Branded Title,” which it is not. Provided below you will see a copy of our title that shows it is in fact NOT BRANDED. As for the Carfax mileage misrepresentation and based on the condition of the vehicle and documents with the Vanagon, along with running a few numbers, you will quickly realize the impossibility of the odometer issue. Note the Vanagon shows purchased on April 24, 1984 The first time is was registered was in 1995 in Tennesse with 466 miles. Probably kept in a dealer’s showroom or private owner’s collection until 1995. Two years later is shows 9,345 miles on Oct. 10, 1997. That is normal low miles for two years with a Westfalia. Then something went wrong when the Westy drove to Utah from Tennessee over the next 66 days. Utah DMV reported the mileage at 36,899 miles on Dec 16, 1997. First off, that’s 27,544 miles over 66 days or 418 miles a day every single day. That’s not going to happen in reality. Plus there is a service entry in the owner’s manual for LOF on Oct 29, 1997 showing 11,766 miles recorded at Dave Stong’s VW Audi Dealership. Then a purchase made by the second owner on January 25, 1999 with 13,296 miles. Then additional entries made on May 24, 1999 with 13,422 miles for another service. The following month, June 11, 1999 another LOF at 13,454 miles. Nearly three years later on Feb 11 2002 at 16,618 miles another LOF and on April 11, 2002 new spark plugs were installed at 16,975 miles. So Carfax showing 36,899 miles on Dec 16, 1997 is wrong based on documentation and the next Carfax entry showing 111,910 miles on May 4, 1999 is wrong too…even then is you do the math, that’s 75,011 miles in 510 days…or 147 miles every single day without a rest. Anyone who knows cars can see a the condition issues with a car that’s ever been driver 75k miles in 15 months. Not just outside, but it would have been lived in too. The interior of this Vanagon and seats alone disprove Carfax errors. Even though the documents with the car disprove the mileage errors, the condition top to bottom and everywhere in between does too.

Our compression tests and THOROUGH inspection of the entire vehicle, one would be able to assess that the mileage on the vehicle couldn't be incorrect. In order for someone to drive over 4,000 miles per month in this Vanagon, they would essentially have to live in it. As you can see from over 250 of our photographs, we have plenty of reason to believe that is an impossibility. The protective plastic is still on the lid of the 2 burner stove. The original ice-cube trays are still in their factory plastic. The fragile lines that are designed to hold the blinds in place are all still in tact. All of these things have been photographed in order to show the new owner that this vehicle is truly a one of a kind Vanagon, that feels virtually new.

Viva Las Vegas Autos Note from the Owner...

I am a “used car dealer” but before that, I’m an automobile enthusiast. I love original, rare and high quality modified vintage and modern cars. Over the past 15 years I’ve been in business, I have come to appreciate an expanding selection of high-demand, high value vehicles as well. I specialize in and I am always on the lookout for cars and trucks that were cherished by their previous owners.
I have an experienced eye for quality and I’ve discovered that my preferred buyers can instantly discern such a vehicle and I have therefore, built my business and reputation around finding these kinds of cars for this type of customer. Super low miles and/or gentle ownership are strict requirements but a car must do something for me on a personal level if there is any hope of convincing you, the buyer, that this is an above average, exceptional vehicle. If nothing about the car excites me, it probably won’t do much for you either and I would soon be out of business.

With just four employees and no sales people, I realize how unusual a “dealership” like mine may be at a first glance. It has taken great care and effort to create such an organization and often, an unusually high investment in a particular car we are about to list. To sell the best it is critical to have a trusted expert in my corner. First we do an exhaustive 130 point inspection on each and every vehicle and hope nothing escapes our methodical investigation. Experience has shown that everything I spend making a car truly “right” will come back to me not only with a higher selling price, but a happy customer that says good things about Viva Las Vegas Autos. Moreover, it allows us to describe the car with ease and confidence, something that simply is not possible unless we think it is true. If major issues are found or the cost of fixing the car the way it should be makes it too expensive to sell, my choice is an easy one. I simply absorb a few hundred dollars loss for my trouble and sell it at auction so you don’t get a headache over the vehicle.

After the vehicle is fully checked over and made whole at any level it needs to be, we researches its history, documents, documenting originality and authenticity. Historical significance, rarity, special features, possible modifications, and much more are used to accurately describe the vehicle with integrity and honesty. Most important for the potential buyer are the 100 to 200 high resolution pictures that I take myself. The pricey equipment I use would be right at home in the hands of the very best professional photographers and I’ve developed a logical format that walks you around the entire vehicle with close-up shots of every square inch. I provide detailed views of the interior, under the hood and then put it on a lift to show the undercarriage and confirm that the beauty of the car you are considering is not merely skin deep. Even our detailers are enthusiastic about the cars they meticulously clean. Reconditioning can sometimes take several days as we do all that we can within reason to get our vehicles in tip top condition visually and cosmetically. We do Way more than just a cheap detail. Our details are more like refurbishing to as close to new as we can possibly get our vehicles.

Usually, I’ll also include a high definition video that shows the car doing its thing. If it’s a fast car, we film it going fast. If it’s a 4x4 you’ll see it crawling up a hill. In every case you will hear things like a rumbling exhaust, working sound system and watch gauges operation as well.

No “dealer,” on-line or in the real world, takes it to this level. No other seller or organization provides you, the buyer, with so much information. I do this because it is the only way I can convince a person; often a world away, unable to touch or feel their purchase that my vehicle is for real and what I say is an honest assessment. All the above is necessary for me to stay in business while keeping integrity intact. I want every buyer to be happy and I need glowing feedback on eBay. To accomplish that I need satisfied customers that are as thrilled with their purchase as I was when I bought it.

If you have any questions at all, please call me on my cell at: 702-353-7500. If your inquiry is sincere and your offer is serious, you’ll find me the most accommodating business partner you’ve ever dealt with. If you call or e-mail asking for my reserve or “what is my bottom line” I will be looking for ways to politely end the conversation. Until you are ready to actually make an offer, I will happily quote you a liberal suggested retail price – a number we both know will not buy the car so, don’t waste your time, or mine. I am after all, a “used car dealer.”
