1971 Volkswagen Type III Squareback Additional Info:

1971 Volkswagen Squareback. Automatic.
Complete with motor and transmission.
Good project car. It has been sitting for 20+ years.
No title. Shouldn't be hard to get a new title. Should be off the books, and you'll get a clear title after. This will be the Buyer's responsibility.
Very straight and rust free. Even the floorboards are solid.
Front Disc Brakes. 3 chrome wheels with good tires, one stock steel wheel with roller tire.
Motor is a 1600cc Type 3 pancake motor in unknown condition. It appears complete, but I would expect to have to rebuild it before trying to run it. I also have a lot of Type 3 specific engine parts, which are included. Including a spare computer for the fuel injection.
The body has great patina. The front fenders and hood have been replaced at some point. All gaps seem good. The front nose has been pushed in, but repaired quite nicely. No bondo in the nose, but it could use some to make it real nice. Drivers door has a slight bend on the opening edge as though someone scraped it while open. Could likely be repaired easily. Opens and closes nicely. Missing the hood emblem, missing the button to open the rear hatch, and the rear Volkswagen emblem is broken.
Front windshield is cracked throughout, would need to be replaced. All the other glass is good.
The interior is a good starting point. The door panels and side panels are almost perfect. The dash is really nice. Some minor cracks in the pad. The gauges are all there and complete, and very nice. All dash knobs seem to be there. It has some kind of aftermarket stereo, probably from the 80s. Automatic shifter and console are nice. The front seats are from a later model car, but are retrofitted to the original seat tracks nicely. The rear seat is original, but the corners are sun damaged. There is no headliner. The carpet is there, but should be replaced, it's not in the best condition. The rear cargo mat is missing as well, and there is an access hole cut into the cargo area floor for some reason. It is pictured.
Transmission is included. It is an automatic. It is removed from the car and the condition is unknown.
It has front disc brakes.
Original trunk mat is there as well, in good condition.
I have several spare parts which will go with the car as well.
I tried to describe the car as honestly as I could. Especially describing the parts that need work.
I believe this will make a great cruiser. Too nice to be a parts car, but that's up to the buyer.
I can provide shipping up to 200 miles for an additional fee. I also have a vehicle shipper I have used before, and I can get a quote from him. Otherwise it will be local pick up.
