1992 Volkswagen Passat GL Wagon Additional Info:

This is an extremely rare, unmolested and immaculately maintained example - I have to let it go for financial reasons but really would like this car to go to someone that knows what it represents - in particular the unmolested drive train and legendary 2.0L 16V motor are virtually impossible to find in this condition. It accelerates, brakes and drives without flaw, and I doubt that more than a handful exist in this pristine mechanical condition.
Ranking as VW’s biggest car at the time of sale, the Passat was available as either a 4-door sedan or 4-door station wagon, in a single GL trim level. Power comes from an unaltered, pristine twin-cam, 2.0-liter 16 valve 4-cylinder engine. Wagons had the automatic as standard. Four-wheel disc brakes and alloy wheels were standard, while anti-lockbraking was among the few options, which this one has. The headlights have been upgraded with xenon bulbs for increased visibility and safety. Please do feel free to ask any questions you may have. Cheers

Hello everyone and thank you for all your questions - here is a summary of some of the answers to help:
the AC compressor kicks in as it should, so it has pressure but it doesn't blow cold - I believe it's still untouched, i.e. R12
the rare part is the unaltered, pristine twin-cam, 2.0-liter 16 valve 4-cylinder engine - gas mileage is well in the 30's
the car has not been in a flood - the "good" is the fact that it's essentially a one owner vehicle, with the previous owner having been in the military taking factory delivery (yes, it's US-Spec) in Germany before returning with it to the US. I've tried to list all the "bad" items - the sunroof has a good size dent from a branch falling on it and should be looked after. Consistent with the age there are a few dings and dents but nothing structural/serious - if you're interested, I am happy to skype or facetime to show you the car, also, do feel free to come and see it - and as an update I've replaced the alternator belt, which is a bit of a relief as I didn't want it to fail on the next buyer - please do feel free to ask any questions via text or phone that you may have and should you choose to bid I wish you luck.
Cheers
