1989 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:

This '89 Vanagon was going to be our last one to own and we wanted something with low miles for highreliably. We bought it from dealer in Phoenix in 2003 with only 116,000 miles. It was Carfax Certified with no accidents and a complete history of being used inrust free Arizona. It now has 188,951 miles. In the 13yrs we have had it we have maintained it Excellently! You can drive this vanagon easily from here in New Mexico to New York City, or Canada, seven gas, motels, and restaurants. EVERYTHING WORKS! Even the clock. Some highlights:
ENGINE: tested recently for compression and it passed with flying colors. It starts immediately on the first turn of the key. Does not use oil.
AIR CONDITIONING: Recentlyconverted from the old style R-12 to the new style R-134. Works Great.
BODY: No Rust (of course) nor any structural issues. It has spent its entire life in Arizona and New Mexico (car fax). Since we have had it we have only incurred a parking lot ding which waseasily repaired. Still has the original factory paint which is in remarkable condition. We have always garaged it. New Tires
NEW ITALIAN SUN SHADE. 10' never used
DUAL BATTERIES:
INTERIOR: Refrigeration unit was recently removed, cleaned, and larger cooling fan installed. It makes ice, especially on Shore Power. Propane power not so much but works well. Stove top burners work very well. There is a powerful 1200 Watt inverter what will run my wife's hairdryer for 20 min.,portable stereo and computerequipt for hours. There are a few blemishes: driver seat has small 2mm hole in it probably from a cigarette in the past (we don't smoke); much of the interior rubber trim has slightly shrunken in length (this is a common '89 - 91 problem); the interior removable carpet as a small 1"permanent stain in the upper corner; there is some sun fading and a small hole in the factory top fabric. Sink faucet was upgraded to the newer type
"These vanagons are LIFE-STYLE-CHANGERS" Ever since our first Vanagon we bought while I was in the Military back in '71, wefelling love with the "Swiss Knife" of cars. We loved the fact that on Friday, after work, you could throw a couple of boxes of weekend supplies, and you could be on your way 30 minutes later whether is was the beach or the Grand Canyon and no motel reservations.I strongly encourage you to inspect our car. This car is sold as is. If you can't, please call my cell: 575-534-7995 or arrange for a private personal inspector. I can provide any photo you wish if there is an uncertainty. If you have more than two negative feedbacks, I INSIST THAT YOU CONTACT ME FIRST.
