Karmann Ghia Convertible 1969

1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Additional Info:

The Karmann Ghia is located in Ferndale, Michigan (just north of Detroit).

My wife purchased this car in July 2011. We used it only a handful of times during the summer months andonly put 374 miles on it during six years of ownership! In July of this year we relocated to California and put the car into adry, secure storage facility in Ferndale, Michigan. Due to lack ofspace in our new home and lack of time,we havecome to the realization thatitwould be better to sell it and have someone else enjoy this great car.

The car underwent a rolling restoration ~1990 andspent most of its time in South Carolina before being purchased by the previous ownerinMichigan.

The car starts-upfirst crank once it has come out of its winter hibernation. It's been very reliable andnever left us stranded.

It appears it was upgraded with a carburetor with automatic choke.

Interior is clean and original.

Comes with an original factory workshop manual and two Karmann Ghia profile books.

The photos show that it is a clean andrust free carthat has been cared for over it's 48 years, however the following issues should be noted:

- The horn button doesn't work. This was noted by the previous owner, but was a task that I never got around to fixing.

- The hood release cable doesn't work. The 'trunk' compartment is solid and has a spare wheel, jack and wheel brace.

- The engine does leave a very small oil patch on the ground when stood for long periods.
