Sometimes life happens. I am selling my house and need to get rid of all my items that require a garage because I am moving into a small condo. My problems aren't your worry. So here we go. This is an 86 golf converted to mechanical MK1 GTI specs. I bought this car to get my SCCA license, used it for SCCA comp school, and 1 race with SCCA in ITB. I also bought an entire other golf so I could have extra panels to get a Chump car World Series logbook. The car has both SCCA and CHUMP logbooks that come with it. SCCA is still current and probably not Chump, since I didn't race with them this year. I bought the car a couple years ago from a man named Pat Foltz, who was the original builder. he owned his own shop and did a nice job on the car. It has a full roll cage, that started as a bolt in, but was fully welded with oversize plates and NASCAR bars were added to both doors. The cage ties into the rear suspension points and has a welded rear strut bar as part of the cage. Bushings throughout are poly. The engine was rebuilt to factory 105hp specs right before I bought the car and at that time it looked brand new. There is a coil over height adjustable suspension with monoball mounts and adjustable camber plates. There is a front strut brace, rear suspension tie in (lower) and the car handles well at speed and is really easy to manage. When I got the car, it had a close ratio 16v trans with a fully welded diff (which is really the way to go), but I was worried about breaking axles, so I swapped in another close ratio 020 and installed the peloquin 80% traction kit. You get the welded trans an an extra. While the trans was out, I dropped the entire shifter tunnel and replaced every single bushing. It shifts like it left the factory. I added a full fire supression system as required by Chump and a cool suit cooler. (Sorry, I am keeping the cool suit stuff). There is a header on the engine, that is heat wrapped and the option to run the exhaust with or without a muffler. Right now, it's with. The car will come with every VW piece I have in my garage, including: a stack of NICE mk2 fenders, a set of new axles, a spare head, extra shifter parts, all the CHUMP body work (fenders, 3 doors, extra hood with night lights, extra hatch), at least 12 to 16 extra wheels (VW forged, VW stock gti, and 16v teardrops, BMW e30 Mesh, BMW E30 bottlecaps) some with tires. the BMW wheels on the car have brand new Falken Azensis that only have 3 heat cycles on them. I also have 2 new, mounted Hankook Ventus DOT 225/50/14slicks with only the break in heat cycle on them (Couldn't get 4 at the time as they were sold out). This is a racecar and there isn't a title. The door glass is held in with zip ties, just for storage. The sunroof shell is welded in properly and the sunroof mechanism is gone. There are no creature comforts like rugs and headliner. The entire inside was (properly) sprayed gray, but is showing some wear. I also just put in a fresh windshield. Now, the car was raced at Summit Point, and the 24hr VIR race in2016. However, my first driver went off on lap 7 (out of 24 hrs) into the runoff gravel and the car came back and wouldn't start. Turned out it jumped 2 teeth on the timing belt. I have spent the better part of the last year getting it back into mechanical shape, including: new timing belt, new distributor, new coil, spare ECU, both fuel pumps brand new, new fuel pump relay, totally leak free and jb welded swirl pot, etc. There was and is no damage due to the off and the car has served me well. As I was replacing the list of fuel related items, the car was having a slight bogging problem after it really warmed up, that is symptomatic of the fuel pump relay or hall sensor. A quick toggle of the ignition switch would clear it right up.Those items are replaced and I would expect you to have a blast with this car. It also has stainless brake lines, new Hawk Blue pads and new front rotors. I added the quad front grill, so the car also comes with the big rectangle lights, the core support, and the grille for that set up. Please ask all questions before bidding.
