Up for auction is a Restored California 1974 Volkswagen T2 Bus
Rare Factory Sunroof, Family Owned Since 1978.
Purchased Used at Riviera VW In Los Angeles in 78'. Still have the Sales contract. The original Blue California plates which are documented are still on the Bus. The owner drove it as his surfing bus to The South Bay in LA. Given to his daughter & son in law in 2013. Which they restored it in 2014/15. The daughter recalls memories of cruising down to the beach with her dad sitting on the floor board in the 80's.
Restored 3 years ago with less then a thousand miles since then.Factory Bright Orange / Pastel White & Black Leatherette.
The bus remains very original Inclduing all factory body panels, rockers & undercarriage. Beautiful solid floors, only expect it from a California Volkswagen. Has always been garaged and well taken care of.Repainted in its original color combination, just stunning.
All new Black Leather interior, headliner & rubber. Upgraded the original black rubber mats to a vinyl mats. When at the beach, all we did was wipe the sand away. Sunroof cable needs to be replaced but opens/closes manually. Pictures don't justice to the details of this bus. What you can't see is minor bubbling under the front windshield weatherstripping. Small ball ding on passenger side door.
Options upgraded : Bluetooth JVC CD Stero system, Rpm / oil gauges added & Genberg locking shifter
Entire engine/transmission was taken apart & redone. You can fly in from anywhere and drive it him with no second thoughts. Cruises at 70mph on the freeway. Dual Webber carburetors, starts right up when cold. Brakes, shifts and drives straight. A great daily driver for someone looking for a turn key T2. New tires with less then 20 miles on them. All lights work Inclduing gauges.
