1973 Volkswagen Thing Convertible Additional Info:

This is a 1 owner California car with ORIGINAL PAINT from 1973 and very low miles (43999). I purchased it over a year ago and pulled it behind my motor home. I sold my motor home and don't use it. I bought it from the original owners nephew and it sat for years in his garage till his uncles health forced him to sell it for him. It is Alberta insured and registered with clear tittle in hand. I have all the paperwork and original California tittle. The floors are solid, the body has no rust and is factory original paint from 1973. There are some dings and scuffs and faded paint here and there as it was driven. The previous owner replaced engine with a 1776 upright duelport with twin carbs. The transmission and clutch were also replaced. Looks like the tires and rims were new. All the work was done years ago then never driven and it just sat in his garage. The roof is in great condition and so are the seats. The horn wasn't working so I had a programmable musical horn installed. The wipers work, but slowly, and all lights work. There is no radio. I've driven this car around town, pulled it behind my motor home and it's a great, realiable driver. It looks like there was MINOR damage to the front end as there is evidence of blended paint. It's hard to see but it's there. Someone dropped something heavy in the front trunk and there is some separation where the floopan meets the trunk. This was done years ago, as explained by the previous owner. As the metal was expose to the elements, there is minor rust there. This does not effect how it drives as it's minor. See pictures. The curtains are there and frames are good but they need new plastic as they are dry and brittle. The car needs a good cleaning but you can jump in and drive it home. You can fly in and drive it home or I can assist with shipping at buyers expense. There are not too many honest 1973 original paint things left out there and I have a fair reserve on it.
