1970 VWDB Deluxe 15 Window Split Bus in Atlanta, GA with Clean Title.
It's a genuine original Deluxe 15 Window Split Window VW Bus built by Volkswagen's Brazil factory in 1970. I found this bus in Sao Paulo and knew I had to buy it before someone else could, then imported it myself. I've had it for almost a year and it's been my daily driver. It has a clean Georgia title, is exemptfrom emissions tests and qualifies for cheap classic car insurance.
I've owned and collected many VW buses for the past 25 years and I know and love them well. This has been one of my favorites, both for its crowd appeal and for its drivability.

It's obvious from the photos, this bus is a beauty that gets a lot of attention. Expect lots of honks and getting stopped by people wanting to talk about it! Body is clean and straight, never restored and always driven so is not museum perfect, but it's had very little body work for a 47 year old car.There has been a few metal patches to the front floor and some of the hidden lower areas over the years but the welding quality is good and was painted over so no bare metal, thus no rust.The only rust on the whole bus is the VW nose emblem, which I purposely left in the rain, then clear coated - because it looks cool! Was repainted high quality L91D kansas beige/L90D pastel white in 2015 and shows almost no chips or wear.Undercarriage coated in POR-15 rubberized paint to protect from weather. Always garaged, driven almost every day. All window rubber in new excellent condition.
Complete interior in like-new condition. Seats for 9 passenger configuration, no rips or tears in the upholstery. The middle seat removes in a minute for carrying cargo. Has heavy duty custom carpet.
Stock 1500cc engine runs great. Brand new SVDA distributer and 30PICT-1 carburetor, plugs and wires, fuel lines and filter. Right cylinder head replaced last year due to a weak cylinder, now compression 120+ all around. No oil leaks. Shifts, steers, and brakes as it should. All maintenance done correctly with care, using high quality parts from Wolfsburg West.
Totally unmodified from factory configuration which means it's perfect for a stock purist or is a clean slate for modification.
There's a few things I haven't gotten to - a turn signal switch that's not year-correct, some door gap adjustments, overhead dome light, stiffer tires, left vent wing latch (I have a new one), cargo door lock cylinder, horn - minor stuff, all the parts are available and the work easy to do. This is the reason the asking price is $24,000 and not $35K+ as most "like new"VWDB buses(like those beautiful specimensat VintageBusImports)-would be.
If you're a long time VW guy like myself or if you just love VW buses and you're looking for a simple to maintain but iconic collector's car, this one is a rare find, especially at this price but I'm moving and am in an urgent need to clear my garage. The investment value of these vintage buses is amazing.
