1964 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:

The 1964 Bug was powered by a 40-horsepower, four-cylinder, 1200cc (1.2-liter) aluminum-magnesium engine. It was linked to a four-speed manual transmission operated by a long shifter. The vehicle also came with independent front suspension and telescopic shock absorbers. Other standard features for the '64 Beetle included a three-foot carpeted compartment behind the rear seat. The offered vehicle has a new engine with original specs and about 9000 miles on it. The 6-volt electrical system has been upgraded to 12-volts. It comes with a working Blaupunkt radio, attractive and in-demand wide whitewall tires with good tread, newer convertible top, refurbished headliner, great chrome all-around, front seat three-point seatbelts for safety, and protective cover. 1971 body pan adds strength to convertible body. EXCELLENT mechanical and electrical condition. Cautionary (cosmetic) notes: Car was painted two years ago and looks great except in two places - a small crack on top of passenger door "sill" (see pic), and in the middle of the hood (a crack and several imperfections); one or two minor (rusty looking) stains remain on refurbished headliner; recarpeted last month with subpar quality carpet - carpet glue runover needs to be removed (well-done carpeted compartment behind rear seat with premium carpet); and windshield washer does not work. Renown Auto Restoration's role is limited to providing a place where the vehicle can be inspected and picked up. The vehicle is for sale by the owner. I encourage inspection prior to commitment to buy. My bug is almost 53 years old and is sold "as-is, where-is, with all faults - and 'bugs'." This is a sacrifice. I have substantially more than $30,000 invested in this car (but I never planned it as an "investment" anyway). Consider it a bargain for yourself and Have Fun! You (and GRETEL) WILL be noticed every time you take her out for a spin around town!!!!
