1971 VW Westfalia Transporter

1971 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Campmobile Additional Info:

Up for sale is Freda, my '71 Pastel White Westy. This bus went through a light restoration this past year. I have enjoyed working on it but it time to let it go to a good home. All interior is there and original. Engine is original with correct AE code. I tried to save and keep it as original as possible. All in all this is one good looking bus.
Restoration included:
Interior
Stripped interior and exterior to the shell
Body work and paint were done by PO
All Westfalia cabinets were stripped, sanded, resealed
All laminate was repaired and polished
New correct vinyl covers and curtains purchased from NLA, England
Paneling was repaired and stained an off white
New floor with wood grain linoleum installed
Exterior
New tent, pop top seals from Bus Depot
Pop Tops were repainted, cleaned, and luggage rack got new bars from NLA
All new window seals from WCM, WW; including vent wings, door scrapers and felt, all glass was cleaned before install
New door seals including slider and fronts
Rims were painted VW Chrome L91
Mechanical
Engine was pulled and stripped to case
Engine was resealed including rear main seal
Tin was cleaned and painted, all correct tin is there
Correct '71 NOS Oil breather
New engine seal
New cloth wrapped fuel lines with proper clamps
Wiring was sorted and all electrics work as should. All ground points were brought to bare metal and sealed for good contact
New rubber brake line installed rear right, brakes were bled and checked for operation
New Left outer CV joint and two new boots installed
Missing:
Front child cot
The bus runs and drives quite well, steering is good with no play, and the brakes are firm. Engine hums along, and shifting is smooth. Transmission was not worked on.
Most of the body work and paint were done by the PO in Pastel White. Including left dog leg and lower front clip. I finished with the Pop Tops, Bumpers, and rear clip.
A Blaupunkt Denver SRQ 26 is included with sale.
Please Note that New York State does not title any vehicle older than 1972. This VW will come with a transferable registration and bill of sale, legal in all 50 states.
