1960 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:

I've spent many hours giving love to this single cab that I recently acquired, as it was not what it was represented to be. Despite it's attractive interior and exterior, the underside was a complete mess. I scraped and wire brushed almost 22 lbs of crud off of the suspension, engine, transmission and undercarriage. I repaired some small rust pinholes with epoxy filler, replaced 2 jack point supports (rear outriggers) that had rust issues, swapped out all 4 long dead shock absorbers, tweaked the king and link suspension and undercoated and painted absolutely everything on the underside. And I got absolutely filthy doing so over the course of several days. But she's done, and I'm ready to begin the process of finding her a new home. She goes, steers, shifts and brakes very well. The lights, brake lights and blinkers work, as do the wipers The gas tank has been replaced and has a sender unit should you decide to retrofit a fuel gauge. The balky carburetor was replaced with a brand new unit. This vehicle has been converted to 12 volts and has been upgraded to a 1600cc engine to improve power and reliability. Otherwise she is very stock. The Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio functions properly. And, as you can see, both the interior and exterior present wonderfully!

I have had a lot of fun driving this around Berkeley the past few weeks. She brings smiles to faces wherever she goes. This is a clean and reliable bus that can either be used as a daily driver or easily brought up to show condition. Please note that there are a few chips in the paint, and some rust on the lower inner edge of the treasure chest door that was not repaired before paint.
I will entertain international bids, and can arrange overseas shipping for under $1500.
The vehicle is located just North of Berkeley California, and I welcome and encourage local inspections. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due immediately after the auction closes. If you don't have an established ebay history when you bid, I will be contacting you, and reserve the right to cancel any questionable bids. If you win the auction, you will be responsible for paying the entire amount of the winning bid. There will be no negotiations after the fact.
There are not many of these made available, and few in this good a condition. Bid with confidence and drive away in a very affordable classic.
