1980 Triumph TR8 Additional Info:

You are bidding on a very nice, low mileage, classic European muscle car nicknamed by some as the "English Corvette".This particular car has been in storage in a climate controlled garage here in Northern California since 1992. It was started by the owner faithfully once a month during that time.
Within the last month all of the fluids have been drained and replaced. It recently passed the California SMOG inspection. The brakes and clutch were checked and 4 new tires were mounted and balanced. A new battery was installed and it has been driven just over 100 miles.
The condition of the car is very nice for it age. It did have a cosmetic repaint some time in the late 80's while the original owner had it, and that is the cars only shortcoming. The repaint is showing its flaws. It is crazing in a few spots and there is some fish-eye here and there, the paint is not perfectThere appears to be no rust, it is even solid under the battery compartment and in the fender wells. The chassis is solid and the car shows no evidence of ever being in a wreck. I don't know the reason for the repaint.
The Buick designed Rover 3.5 liter engine starts right up and pulls the car down the road nicely. The steering is heavy as it should be but tight like a go cart. There are a few minor electrical issues that you will need to sort out mainly the headlights do not function yet. The high beams do kick on with the passing switch but the headlights do not pop up yet. and the fuel gauge is stuck at 1/3 of a tank. The rear window stitching is starting to release and will need to be resewn. The interior is nice with no cracks in the dashboard. The driver seat has a small puncture in the leather and there are is some minor staining in the plaid.
There were just under 2,800 of these cars ever produced byTriumph in 1980 and 1981.In 1980 only the CA. models had the Bosh L type fuel injection. The production run for the CA. cars is said to be around 300 units in 1980. It is estimated that there are just under 1000 total units remaining in the word. Here is your chance to get in on a very collectible and rare car.
We have done no repairs to the car at all, it will need a little fine tuning by its new owner. It is not perfect and should be treated like a car that just came out of long term storage.
Examine the pictures carefully and ask all questions before bidding.
Please contact me if you have less than 10 positive feed-backs and are planning to bid.
There is a youtube video of the car also, search "Triumph TR8 California model" it is a short walk around and vehicle start up.
Thank you and good luck.
