1968 Triumph Spitfire 1968 SPITFIRE MK2 CONVERTIBLE. SAFFRON YELLOW. Additional Info:

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very attractive, rare, and desirable Spitfire Mk2 in it's factory colors of Saffron yellow with matching hardtop. This model Spitfire produces the most horsepower and is the best performing of the bunch. It was recently purchased from the San Diego area from the widow of the believed 3rd owner. This car was nicely restored by him over the years as it was his pride and joy, being always garaged. The body on this car is very decent with average/typical panel gapping. The car underneath is completely rustfree and shows to be extremely solid. Paintwork is about the right quality for a Spitfire. It's a modest respray but presents nice and glossy, showing only a few door edge chips from normal use. Brightwork and rubber is mostly original with a mix of a few new items. The car's interior presents very well with nicely re-upholstered seats in black vinyl, newer carpets, crisp original-looking door panels, new quality black soft top, and very nice dashboard top pad with wood facia. The new wood/alloy steering wheel is a striking touch.Mechanically, the car is in excellent fettle. The car's 1147cc 4-cylinder engine cranks out it's 67 hp with ease. It's very healthy, starts easily on the key, and idles and sounds very healthy. The car drives wonderfully well and has been really sorted out.The car includes a host of additional new parts pictured, all valuable and usable items that belong to the ownership of this little car.Overall, this desirable Spitfire in great period colors is a scarce offering in this very nice restored condition.
