1962 Triumph TR4 4 SPEED OVERDRIVE GEARBOX Additional Info:

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this superb early TR-4 Roadster. These early produced 4's had some distinctive features that separated them from later production cars. Among other items, this included the small bonnet bulge, Spa White metal dash facia, trunk lid prop stick, TR-3A style seats, necked radiator, intake manifold and carbs, "bubble" gauges, chrome plated brass rear cockpit cappings and windshield header rail. This car was recently purchased from it's long term owner who had owned this car a few times before, and was the restorer for the car previously. This car runs and drives wonderfully well, and has the added benefit of a fitted, desirable Overdrive gearbox. The body and paint on this car is simply lovely. This car had a very good quality restoration and is holding up quite well with no issues showing. Gaps are very good to excellent. The body is very straight with hardly an issue. Paintwork is glossy and was nicely applied, buffed, and polished. Chromework is excellent. The car received a new rubber kit, and everything fits very nicely as it should. The car's interior is very correct and was renewed at the time of the restoration. This included a new panel kit, carpets, seats, soft top, dash pads, windshield. It presents beautifully. The underside is 100% rustfree and solid. Floors look excellent, along with perfect inner and outer rockers.Mechanically, the car drives as good as it looks. The car is very solid, quiet, rattle-free. The engine and gearbox are healthy, perform very well with plenty of power and no issues. The engine starts quickly on the key with some choke. The car is fitted with a high torque starter. The car drives very well with good steering, tight suspension, and nice brakes. This car still retains it's original ID VIN plate CT 880L, original body tag 1015 CT, and early TR-4 engine # CT 909 E, all very closely sequenced together and most likely fully matching...Overall, this stunning and rare early TR-4 is a scarce find in this condition. It has been lovingly restored in the past to excellent standards, and is still holding up and showing extremely well. It has the benefit of a fitted overdrive gearbox and maybe a set of wire wheels would complete the package down the road...As these beautiful Michelotti styled 60's Triumphs grow in popularity, this early car will be a smart buy going forward.VIDEO LINK OF TR4 DRIVING HERE: https://youtu.be/o7fjGOAEcvw
