Current owner acquired car as a true Barn Find. Found the GT6 in a barn in Tyler Texas in 2000. The car had been parked for some number of years due to a busted differential.

3 year restoration started in 2001 and finished 2004.

Frame was sand blasted, dents pulled out and powder coated.

Floor pans were replaced (by professional).

Body was taken to bare metal and professionally sprayed.

Body was prepped, painted white, then Mimosa Yellow for depth.

Restoration included:

New wiring harness (British Wiring).

New tan interior (From England –Rimmer Bro.s).

RARE occasional seat (custom professionally re-covered in matching grain New Tan vinyl from England to match grain of other interior vinyl).

Light tan wool carpeting (Rimmer Bro.s).

Stainless steel exhaust (Rimmer Bro’s).

Brown Furlex around doors and quarter windows .

The GT6 does not get hot even during the Texas summer heat. The car has been driven about 5000 miles over the past 5 years. The car is beautiful and needs to be driven more.

Recent service includes:

Differential was pulled, inspected, sealed and reinstalled due to a continuing fluid leakage that became problematic. The British specialty shop reports that everything internally looked good. It is a 3.63 gear ratio.

New Type 16PB metric front calipers from Rimmer Bros. installed. DOT 5 brake fluid used since restoration.

Carburetors professionally reconditioned / cleaned / and tuned.

Recent tune up (new plugs / points / condenser / timing set / oil change (Valvoline VR1 20w – 50w)

Original Smith’s Tachometer and Speedometer were rebuilt by Nisonger last year. All other gauges operate properly.

All electrical operates as it should without any issues.

Koni adjustable shocks installed front and rear since restoration (painted blue for concours showing.

Gear reduction starter installed.

Problem areas:

Triumph radio does not work – it was installed for show. There is a correct speaker box under the passenger dash / foot well area.

Dash pad – original – has a couple of minute cracks. Replacements are now available but were not when the car was restored.

Front bumper has a scratch.

There was a shock failure two years ago resulting in a hairline crack in the bonnet paint. Passenger side just above the wheel area.

This GT6 came from England without an overdrive and, since we built it for show, it is still without overdrive. A reconditioned overdrive is available for purchase should buyer wish.
