1971 Triumph Stag Additional Info:

1971 Triumph Stag, RWD, v8, manual/overdrive, right-hand drive. Comes with both hard and soft tops. This one has had the original v8 replaced with a 3.5 v8 from a 1980 Rover SD1 (9.35:1 compression), with an Offenhauser manifold and a Weber four-barrel carb. It has the original Triumph 4-speed box with overdrive on 3rd/4th, with an adapter plate between engine/gearbox. The exhaust is custom tubular to clear the steering rack and mates to the original Stag center muffler. Mileage reads 20664 but I'm assuming it's either on its second run of the clock or that's the mileage since restoration. Runs fine, shifts fine, stops fine.
It had a full restoration in the early 2000s - I have a couple of photos of this, several parts - most obviously the rear bumper - were replaced with items from a 1973 Stag. The paint has faded a little but overall polishes up pretty well. The front carpets need replacing (see pic), but the floor and trunk pans are solid.
The interior is good - the seats are in great shape, the soft top is virtually new, and the hard top has a decent headliner and has all its original trim/glass. The dash wood was replaced with walnut parts, and the finish is great at 10ft but honestly is a bit ropey close-up. One of the 'stag' badges is missing, but I have a spare someplace. It's currently wearing its original UK license plates as that's how I used to show it - but it also has OR front/rear plates for normal road use.
It's a right-hand drive car - as far as I can tell, it was imported into the US sometime around 2003 and has been registered in Oregon since 2005. I've owned it since 2009.
Electrically - I replaced the alternator last year, and the electric window motors right after I got it. The fuel pump is also new. Lights all work, gauges are OK but the rev counter isn't hooked up. Electric fan fitted in place of original (auto w/manual override). The wiring under the hood is a bit of a dogs breakfast, as you can hopefully see in the pics. Overdrive isn't currently hooked up.
Mechanically - bushes replaced with new polyurethane units throughout. Slight weep from one of the power steering hoses. Brakes are good. Tires have plenty of tread but are old. Wheels are original Triumph alloys, but could use a polish. Doesn't use coolant.
Overall, it'll be a great car with a bit of TLC. It's a good, solid project base.
Clear Oregon title. Sold as-is, where-is, with no reserve. More than happy to help with loading/shipping the car if required, but it probably needs new tires before an actual road trip. Please feel free to ask any and all questions, this is my fifth Stag and am happy to take calls about it. I'd kept this one as a summer driver specifically because the Rover engine is so much more reliable, but as I'm moving this one now has to go as well.
