1974 Triumph TR-6 Additional Info:

Here we have a late production '74 Triumph TR6 restoration projectwith the desirableoverdrive transmissionoption. All numbers are correct, including the overdrive transmission, the Commission number, the engine number, the upper & lower firewall body tags and the windshield tag. The windshield has a hair crack, but a good windshield is included. I am the fourth owner, and I purchased it from thethird owner. The first California owner bought the car in California. The second California ownerbought the car in California in '98, drove it home to Turlock, CA, disassembled it and started to repaint it in the original French Blue (it had been changed to yellow at some point). The paint job never got finished and the car has not been driven since then. The hood and doors are yellow, the remainder is the original blue. It has always been in Californiauntil I had it shipped to PA and garaged ever since a few years ago, and was in the California Central Valley until '98 when it came to the San Jose area. This isa totally rust and rot free car other than typical surface rust. No rot; the floors, rockers and all typical danger areas are excellent. Frame is original and excellent. I can't find any bodywork or signs of accident damage. The odometer shows 54,746 miles and the clear PA title states 54,000 original miles because when I went to AAA to title it I couldn't remember the exact milage on the odometer so I stated 54,000. Of course I can't verify the mileage is actually original, but the PA title says so and that's good enough for me. The third owner made no attempt to start the car so he didn'tknow anything about the mechanical condition beyond the fact that it was driven by the second ownerfrom Turlock (in the California Central Valley) to Milpitas, California (near San Jose) with no problems, and then disassembly was started. When I had the car shipped from California to PA I changed the oil and coolant and we got it started but made no attempt to drive it, but rather continued disassembly. It is now in the advanced disassembly stage so the thing to do is just finish disassembly and start restoration. The interior will need to be completely redone with the exception of the dash pad and center console whichare in great shape. The wooden dashwas shot so it was tossed. The top will need to be replaced. All in all, this is a great starting point for a relatively easy restoration. You won't find a cleaner, more solid place to start. This car with it's 'original miles' title, matching numbers, no rust, California history and overdrive tranny is destined to be a very high-value car. No rust or rot repairs, no patch panels, no frame mutilation and no non-original components. The seats were rebuilt with all new foams and rubbers and then custom covered in blue & white vinyl as my intention was to do the car in blue & white. I will post more pics of the bumpers, seats, gauges, and othre bits soon. The only think the car is missing is a good soft top, interior panels and carpets, and wooden dash.
If you are seriously interested please start making a list of parts you don't see listed so we don't forget anything when you pick your car up because I have parts in several rooms of my house and don't want to forget anything when you pick it up. Also, I have lots more pictures of the bumpers, the newly covered seats, the grill, and many trim bits, switches, gauges etc. I can help you bolt the fenders, doors, hood and trunk back on but the car will have to be trailered and has been very much disassembled. The engine can be started with a small fuel pump and fuel source to show you the engine is good. I have no reason the O/D tranny or rear end aren't good either.
Includes the 2 original sets of keys, original jack, original owners manual, some receipts from California etc
