1992 Toyota Celica Additional Info:

This 1992 Toyota Celica is in very good condition for it's age. I have owned it for 3 years and have put almost 30000 miles on it. It needs a head gasket which is a 10 hour job. Toyota dealer wants 1000 to do the job. Local mechanic 600. I love the car and would keep it but I need a pickup truck. The inside is exceptional and it still has it's original floor mats. It is a non smokers car and I believe was always a non smokers car. The electronics all work properly including sunroof, windows, heat, ICE cold a/c, cd player, rear defrost, trunk release, fuel door release, lights, switches everything.
It has got the 2.2 l 4 cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. It runs quiet and smooth except for needing a head gasket. It can be driven distances of 20-40 miles with no issues. Like I said it builds pressure in the radiator from the exhaust gasses. There is no steam out the tail pipe and no antifreeze in the engine oil. I average 27 mpg in mixed driving.
The rust that is visible on the driver side rear is the only rust issue on the entire car. I was quoted 500 to remove rusted steel and replace with sheet steel and repaint. I got 3 estimates from 3 local guys and all gave me the same price. The car is very clean underneath and no other rust issues. Brake lines, fuel lines and unibody all good, no repairs.
I have a folder of all repairs done while I have owned the car. The transmission shifts smooth, the brakes (4 wheel disc) grab fine and smooth, the tires are 50% all around and it comes with 4 dedicated snow tires(michelin x-ice) mounted on steel wheels. The aluminum wheels are aftermarket and look good.
The timing belt and water pump were done while I have owned it as well as all fluids and filters including transmission, brake, engine, coolant.
Paint is good but not all original. I do not know for sure what was repainted other than the left rear. Plastic bumpers and side mirrors as well as the door handles are faded to a lighter shade of blue.
I believe it is worth 3500 if it had head gasket and paint. It just needs a good home and these are becoming quite hard to find. This body style was years 1990-1993 only. This is for sale locally and auction may end at any time. Call me, talk to me, make me an offer.
I am available to answer any questions you may have after 4 pm EST.
My name is James and you can call me at (570)596-2830
All glass and body panels are original. I just want it to go to someone who will appreciate it for what condition it is. I can possibly help with a discount if you need it shipped.
