1980 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ43 FJ43 FJ40 FJ45 FJ60 FJ62 Additional Info:

1981 BJ43 Toyota Land Cruiser with the original 3B Toyota Diesel engine with 102,700km. No oil burn, no issues. Runs extremely well, and has been well maintained. eBay does not recognize the BJ43 VIN. It is a 1981 model, that I legally imported from Canada, with all documentation.
Ultra Rare, only a handful of these BJ43's reside in the States. As you can see, this '81 has been well cared for and is as original as you will ever find in North America. In 2007 this 43 had a full frame off restoration, which included the diesel motor being completely tuned, axles, drive shaft U joints, ball joints, all serviced. New Bilstein 5112 shocks and new Japanese Bridgestone "Jeep Service" Commercial grade off road tires; 7:50X16 on the original Toyota Split Rims, new Toyota leaf springs, new shackles, and U bolt hardware. Also added at that time was an 8000 lb Warn Winch, and new Warn Locking Hubs.
Over this past winter I decided to freshen up the exterior of the Land Cruiser using a professional shop that sanded the rig to metal, and re applied new Martin Senior high quality paint in Toyota Freeborn Red. I also ordered a brand new replica of the original Toyota soft top "Pakistani" style, roll up in Camel, with new Aussie Matts throughout. The result is one of the nicest looking J Series trucks anywhere.
The BJ43 starts first turn of the key in summer. After six months being garaged in winter in a very cold, and dry northern climate, it may take two turns of the key. I let it idol for 10 minutes, and then it's good to go. The heater works very well. Contrary to what many may believe, this 43 runs down the Hwy at 65mph. Not speedy, but plenty of torque, and great gas milage for a Land Cruiser. I have personally driven through several states at Hwy speed, with no issues. This truck will take you anywhere.
Simplicity is the key with the older FJ and BJ land cruisers. It has no AC or PS, although with the tall 7:50 tires, it stears easy. It has roll up, crank windows that never break, a top that comes completely off, and the windscreen folds down and straps to the hood. This would be useful for anyone interested in killing wild beasts.
This BJ43 is easy to drive, shifts easily, and has great visibility.
I could go on and on regarding this truck, but will simply list a few things that are new, and let the photos speak for themselves.
There is no rust at all. Some surface rust on the exhaust.
New weather stripping throughout, including all doors, windshield frame, kick vents, etc.
New HFS front winch bumper
New Soft Top
New Aussie Mats throughout
New window rubber
New brake cylinders all around
New Martin Senior paint in Toyota Freeborn Red
New flat black frame application
New Toyota Emblems, All
New Stainless Steel Bolt Kit
Please email if you would like to talk on the phone. I will answer all questions as quickly as I can. I am not, however, in front of my computer 24/7, nor do I always carry my phone.
Bid with confidence. Great rig.
I am not going to share my reserve so please don't ask. I am, however, realistic. With every shop from LA to Boston selling FJ40's it seems to me it's a buyers market.
I will help with transport, you pay. I happy to speak with all serious buyers on the telephone. Please email me a #, and I will gladly contact you. If you have a series 40, 60 or 62 Land Cruiser that you would like to trade plus cash, please email me a photo.
Coming to eBay next week. 1964 FJ45 Short bed pickup.
