1983 Toyota Pickup short bed 4x4 Additional Info:

The good: Zero rust on frame and cab, there are a few rust-through spots in the bed. I purchased through a broker from the original owner. The interior is all original except the steering wheel. The interior is in remarkable condition with the exception of the drivers seat shoulder and the original floor covering. While the exact mileage is unknown, we estimate it to be relatively low due to the overall condition of the interior and driveline. I'm guessing well below 180k miles. The truck has been driven about two times a week for the past six years. Stored in a car port for the last four and a half years. The original 22R engine was replaced in June 2016 with a new 22R after a bolt worked its way through the carburetor. It's been run on ethanol free fuel throughout my ownership. This is a factory A/C truck (but needs to be serviced)

The bad: The blue paint is (obviously) not original but is in pretty good condition. The odometer read 23k miles when purchased. The odometer is not reliable nor does it operate. Subsequently, the actual mileage is unknown. In my opinion the clutch needs to be bled. Everything works fine, but the pedal feels soft. The clutch is not slipping and shifts fine. The shift gate is a little sloppy. The truck starts and runs effortlessly when cold or having set for some time. Once warm, it is sometimes difficult to start, but can be worked around by pressing and holding the gas pedal to the floor when starting. Otherwise runs brilliantly. 3rd gear is slightly, (very slightly) noisy. I only point this out because 1st, 2nd, and 4th are silent. 5th gear is somewhat noisy at interstate speed. If I were keeping the truck I'd look into replacing the transmission or checking out whats causing the noise. The passenger side front fender is not original. The rearview mirror is not attached (but is included). The sun visors are unattached (but are included). The pedals need rubber grips installed and there's a few small dents and scratches on the exterior. The spare tire is included but unattached and lastly hood's latch needs attention. AC does not work (don't know why, never looked into it).
There are a few minor repairs that could be performed, but the truck requires nothing at all to be a reliable daily driver as is. We recently joked that this truck is the most reliable vehicle in our "fleet" and we'd not hesitate to take it on a cross country trip right now. That being said, we offer the truck as-is. We are sure that the next owner will be pleased with the truck and are representing the truck as clinically as possible. Our hopes are that based on our description of the truck, the buyer will be pleasantly surprised with the overall condition.
