LEGENDARY Toyota LandCruiserOWN THE ICON
This NO RESERVE auction is for our 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser model 80 that we have used for getting around in when we stayed at our Central Oregon vacation home. This LC really works well with its 4WD and handling abilities in all season weather conditions. Everything from trips into town, exploring the high desert, and lake trips are just more fun in this. I have owned many newer SUV's, but this one may actually be more fun to own and operate. It never ceases to amaze me how many compliments I get when I'm driving it as people just don't see many nice Land Cruisers out and about.
The Land Cruiser has always been a symbolic flagship SUV for Toyota and I really feel that they hit it out of the park on these. They manage to incorporate the confidence inspiring off road capabilities with the refinements and comfort of a luxury SUV. A great combination of both to be a real MVP SUV!
This is a very original Land Cruiser that doesn't appear to have had the modifications over the years like so many others. Other than a small lift with upgraded Rancho shocks, it is very original. Hopefully your family enjoys this as much as ours has.
The body on this Land Cruiser is really in amazing shape, rust free and really straight with no glaring defects. The paint is original so there are some light minor scratches and tiny door dings to be expected on a 1992. I have taken lots of pictures to highlight overall condition of the paint and body but obviously can't possibly describe each of the many rock chips individually. The body lines all line up very well. All of the doors, hood, rear gate, latches etc. work well. The bumpers are in great condition, no dings, dents, or rust. The wheels are an aftermarket alloy wheel which I feel really look great and period correct. The LT 285/75/16 tires are brand new BF Goodrich tires that I just had installed a few days ago to the tune of $1150. You are ready to go!
The interior is really pretty impressive for a vehicle of this age. The upholstery and seats are very nice with no rips and hold form well. (Cushions are not broke down) The front door panels have the typical vinyl lift right at the top front corner, never bothered me, but this is a typical issue on this vintage. (shown in pics) This has the third row seat that folds up and out of the way when not in use. It is in really nice shape and functions well. The dash is in great shape and free from any splits, cracks or noticeable wear. There are a couple of cigarette burns in the headliner between the driver's door and the moon roof from many years ago. Nobody in my family smokes, so this was long before we got it. I am very sensitive to odors, specifically to smoke, and this does not have any strange odors or hint of smoke smell. The glass does not have any cracks, but there are a couple of chips in the windshield. The window tint job was done many years ago and does have scratches and corners peeling. You could either remove, have redone or just enjoy it as is, never bothered me much. All of the rest of the glass is in good shape. All of the power features work as they should. The power locks work well, all of the power windows function smoothly, the power mirrors work, the moon roof opens and closes correctly. All of the lights work, interior and exterior. The windshield wipers work as they should as do all turn signal, headlamps, and marker lights. All of the gauges light up and work properly. This came with a factory center locking differential which was designed for the rough stuff. It allows you to push a button on the dash for ultimate traction. (See above pic of indicator on dash showing engaged) This is a very nice feature and performs well!
The 4.0 Liter inline 6 cylinder engine stays true to Toyota boasting an impressive record of longevity. I guess that is why you see so many of these with 300K plus miles and still commanding a pretty penny. They are said to be pretty much bullet proof and this one has never failed us. The engine fires right up and performs great. The I6 gives this really good torque and power is sufficient to tow a small trailer or jet ski's etc. The transmission shifts through all of it's gears properly. The transfer case shifts as it should and the center locking differential functions properly. I really love the way this drives down the road. The stance and visibility make it a truly nice SUV to cruise around in. On a nice road it drives really smooth and doesn't wander right or left, on a bad road it soaks up the bumps and retains a solid confident feel. The brakes stop well, no pull or shimmy. The steering and suspension is tight, predictable and responsive.
Whether you are looking for a toy, daily driver, weekend getaway rig, fishing rig, or something else, I believe this unique "Swiss Army Knife" Land Cruiser would be a great rig for the job. I have done my best to accurately describe this awesome SUV that will surely make someone a very happy new owner.
