1978 Toyota Corona Luxury Edition Additional Info:

---1978 Toyota Corona---
Listing this for a good friend. This is a real time capsule of a car - a '78 Corona Luxury Edition with just 46,000 miles. It features the 2.2L 20R 4 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, working AC, AM/FM radio power steering, power brakes and rear defrost. It still has its jack, lug wrench and manuals. I believe '78 was the last year the Corona was imported to the US, and its also the last year of the 5th series body style.
Current owner purchased the car from the widow of the long-term owner, who babied the car. It was garage kept for most of its life. In fact, the widow sold the Corona because she finally had a chance to park her own car in the garage, but didn't want to leave the Toyota outside. Rick, the new owner, has had the car for several years and driven it sparingly. He is ready to pass it on to a new caretaker.
The paint appears original and the body is rust free, except for a small area of surface rust under the right lower fender trim (see photos). It isn't rusted through but should be sealed up before it gets any worse. Floors, unibody, etc are all in great condition. The under body has some surface rust as you'd expect, but retains a lot of the original undercoating. Its missing the center crest of the right side fender badge, but is otherwise complete and unmolested.
The car starts, runs and drives great. Engine and transmission show some light seepage around the usual areas but there are no active leaks. A new battery was recently installed.
Interior is also in excellent condition with the proper amount of patina for a 46,000 mile car. Headliner was professionally replaced with the proper materials.
There are a lot of great, well preserved details on this car - check out the dash and upholstery, the engine bay, the finishes on the hardware and panels in the trunk.
The Corona is located in Dayton, Ohio (zip 45404) and is available for inspection by appointment. Questions are welcome.
Title is clear and in-hand.
