1988 Suzuki Samurai JX Additional Info:
This 1988 Suzuki Samurai JX does more than represent an affordable 4x4, because this example also has a great-looking time capsule-like appearance inside and out. So it's hard not to imagine this little off-roader will be turning heads on the road, too.
The Samurai was all about a young and adventurous spirit, and this one continues to represent that style so well. Clean upright sheetmetal, flared fenders, a padded roll bar, and full-size spare on the rear give this a great classic SUV look. The teal paint represents its era so nicely, and that's especially true with the full-length graphics package. In fact, these desert sunset colors against the turquoise-like paint feels just like a day driving through New Mexico. Even the white soft top has tan trim to coordinate with the side graphics when the roof is in place. So while the Samurai is a rugged 4x4, you can also instantly see this example has not spent a harsh life on the off-road scene.
Inside, this really shows off the premium JX trim nicely. It's a well-done two-tone tan and brown coordinated on the bucket seats, door panels, and dash. It really has a time capsule style appearance, right down to the Suzuki-branded Clarion AM/FM/cassette stereo and 4x4 instructions attached to the floor. This also has all the right features you want for a true driver on or off-road, including the full gauge package with large speedo and tach. The proper heat/defrost package is useful no matter if it's a campsite morning or you're on your way to the weekend car show. Plus, the rear is a carpeted cargo area with easy access thanks to the wide-swinging rear door.
The engine bay continues the time capsule presentation. This has an exceptionally tidy look, right down to details, like wires and decals. And the fender-mounted jack looks like it has never been used! The 1.3-liter motor is the proper powerplant for this little 4x4. These are known to be hardy engines, and this one fires up and runs with the kind of gusto that suggests proper service over its lifetime. The five-speed manual transmission gives you full control over the motor. Plus, light steering and power brakes w/discs up front make it an easy driver. And the two-speed 4x4 transfer case is there whenever you want to have fun after the pavement ends.
It's difficult to find these Samurais today looking so original. So if you've been searching for a 4x4 that really beings back the memories, call today!
