1962 Studebaker Gran Additional Info:

I have a 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk for sale. This is a complete car that was just in the beginning stages of a restoration when my father (the one restoring it) unexpectedly passed away in late 2016. My father was a true car nut and had owned several GT hawk's over the years, but this one was his first. I have paperwork showing he purchased this car in 1981 from the second owner, whom purchased the car in 1976 from the original owners. The car is an original Colorado car. This was a fully running/driving car up until approximately 2000 when it was parked and waited it's turn for restoration. After my father's passing the car was moved from his shop to an outside storage lot in 2018 where it has sat since. This is a 289 (Studebaker engine) V8 car, 2bbl, with a Borg-Warner 3 speed automatic. Overall, this car is in very decent shape. There is some rust on both rockers, and my father was in the process of cutting out metal to see how deep the rust went. There is also a small rust through hole in the drover's side floor and two holes in the trunk pan back by the tail panel. That is all the rust I could find. That is a very small amount of rust considering the age of the car. Engine spins over nice by hand, oil looks good. Car was originally Ermine white with a red interior and at some point before my father purchased it, it was poorly painted the color it is now. This car was optioned with power steering, power brakes, white wall tires, tinted glass, push button radio, full wheel covers, electric clock, external rear view mirror, padded visors, cigarette lighter, back up lights, tachometer, and the Borg Warner 3 speed automatic transmission. This car needs restoration work. While the car has been outside, some idiot tried to manhandle to hood open and bent the rear corners. I do not know when this happened or who did it, one of the risks of outdoor storage I guess. The seats may look bad, but honestly its just the seat foams discolored from the heat since it has been outside. With minimal work this is a running/driving project you can restore while enjoying. Only 8,388 GT Hawks were sold in 1962. Clean/Clear Colorado Title in hand. I have WAY more photos if someone needs more photos. Sold as is/where is, no warranties implied or expressed. Shipping is at the cost of the buyer. I will work with your shipper to help load. Car can stay where it is for up to 30 days free of charge. $500 non refundable deposit required with in 48 hours of auction end and the balance within 7 days. Balance needs to be paid in wire transfer, certified bank check, or cash. You are also welcome to pick the car up in person as well. Thanks!
