1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk Top of the line Additional Info:

Over 35K invested, 56 Golden Hawk waiting for the right person to complete. A couple of years ago a 1956 Golden Hawk sold at auction for 106K. 46K miles on the odometer, actual miles unknown. Here is what has been done to this mocha and snowcap white car:

Complete engine rebuild including new pistons, valves, lifters, reground crankshaft and camshaft, new bearings, new water pump, new fuel pump, new Olds oil pump. Block drilled to accommodate full flow oil filter. Just installed new Edelbrock carburetor (original carburetor included in sale). Modern chrome air filter (old oil bath filter included in sale). Pertronix ignition installed, new coil. At minimum engine needs balance.

Turbo Hydramatic 400 (GM) transmission installed (rebuilt).

Venture Air air conditioning installed (needs recharge).

Turner disk brakes installed on front, new emergency brake cable; new 2 chamber master brake cylinder installed.

Electronic fuel pump installed. All new stainless fuel lines and brake lines.

New 15” Ford wheels, with radial wide whitewall Tires

New front coil springs, new heavy duty rear springs, all new bushings.

New one inch front and rear roll bars.

New stainless steel exhaust.

New wiring harness installed.

ADDITIONAL PARTS:

56J Rear axle

$450 new tinted windshield

Replacement drivers and passenger doors

Replacement right and left front fenders

New ribs for new headboard install

New 56J gas gage sending unit
Replacement steering column

Issues:

Car has what I believe is a Chrysler rear end. Rear end works fine but the Chrysler brakes do not. Have 56J rear end for the car. For this reason car will need to be trailered.

Engine may have some bearing etching due to not changing the oil annually.

Turn signal switch works, but has a mechanical issue. Note replacement steering column has this switch.

Car requires new interior, and new paint. Note that both front fenders have bondo; replacement fenders are bondo free (one does have a small easily repaired crease)

Vehicle is sold as is without warranty express or implied.
