It is EXTREMELY RARE as only 4,009 Gran Turismo Hawks were built in 1963, the LAST year of GT Hawk production. We recently purchased this Hawk from the previous older Arizona owner and as you can tell in the pictures and video it was his pride and joy !! I drove this car for the last several weeks as my daily driver and I assure you it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It is a great driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. It still retains it's correctly mounted - FACTORY ORIGINAL - driver's door pillar mounted Studebaker VIN plate and it's - FACTORY ORIGINAL - cowl mounted data plate, both of which are shown in several pictures. This is a QUALITY CAR FOR SURE THAT IS READY TO DRIVE, SHOW AND ENJOY !!!At the heart of this GT Hawk is the VERY STRONG - Code "R1" - "Jet Thrust" High Compression (240 Horsepower !!) 289 CID V8 motor that is running VERY well. The motor also sports the ORIGINAL Style 4 barrel intake manifold, ORIGINAL Style exhaust manifolds, ORIGINAL Style chrome valve covers, ORIGINAL Style 4 barrel carburetor and the ORIGINAL Style chrome air cleaner housing, etc. Sounds GREAT too with the THROATY factory style true dual exhaust system with dual chrome tips. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - Three speed "Flight-O-Matic" automatic transmission that also functions very well. The BEAUTIFUL !! - MOSTLY ORIGINAL - Cream White and Raven Black Vinyl GT Hawk interior is in NICE condition including NICE Cream White and Raven Black Vinyl front bucket seats, NICE ORIGINAL Black carpets, NICE ORIGINAL Matching Raven Black door panels with correct aluminum inserts, NICE ORIGINAL Hawk steering wheel, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black and Faux Wood Grain accented dash, VERY NICE Cream White and Raven Black Vinyl rear bench seat with folding center armrest, Good ORIGINAL Cream White Vinyl headliner, Good ORIGINAL Cream White Vinyl sun visors, NICE ORIGINAL Raven Black Vinyl center console with padded armrest and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black Vinyl dash pad with NO CRACKS !! This GT Hawk comes nicely equipped including WORKING FACTORY air conditioning that blows COLD, factory power steering, factory power wipers, factory front wing windows, factory front seat belts, good heater and defroster, factory dual side cowl vents, factory gauge clusters with 120 MPH speedometer, working factory tachometer, original clock which is no longer working, original chrome driver's side view mirror, original AM radio which is no longer working, original day / night rear view mirror and factory back up lights. This Gran Turismo Hawk has GREAT looks and AWESOME "Jet Thrust" V8 power as well... what's not to like ?! The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. All of the RARE ORIGINAL chrome and stainless steel exterior body trim and moldings are in NICE condition including NICE ORIGINAL Badging, NICE ORIGINAL Chrome front bumper, Good ORIGINAL Chrome rear bumper and NICE ORIGINAL Chrome front grill and headlight surrounds. The CLEAN - SOLID trunk also sports a NEW ORIGINAL STYLE vinyl liner, a full size spare tire and the ORIGINAL jack and lug wrench. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are also clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL !!
