1988 Shelby CSX-T Additional Info:

This is Shelby CSX-t #747 out of 1,000. Now a unique, fun and even practical daily driver, this Shelby was stored in a barn for several years before we recently rescued it. We have gone through it, replaced all fluids and vulnerable items, and have put a few thousand miles on it to ensure it is completely ready to be driven again on a regular basis. As it sits, it is a fun to drive little car that runs and drives beautifully and gets tons of "thumbs-ups" from those in the know. Even in the extreme record cold we have experienced in the past few weeks here in Minnesota, the little Shelby has always reliably and easily started right up.

Equipped with a strong running 2.2 liter Turbo I Chrysler engine and a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual transmission, this little car scoots along quite well and has no problem at all around town or at highway speeds. It even gets close to 30 MPG! All of the lights and signals appear to work properly, and though it has "quirks" typical of a 25-year old car, all of the items needed to drive and enjoy seem to function well - including the factory stereo!

The interior has stains in the carpet and here and there on the upholstery, but nothing major. It is free of any odor and has generally good trim and controls. All gauges appear to function as they should. The body is in nice shape with no visible rust, though some trim pieces here and there are loose, and there are two minor gouges on the plastic bumper covers. While it is by no means perfect, it is in quite nice shape for an unrestored almost 30 year old car!

Mechanically, the CSX starts quickly and easily, idles and runs well, shifts easily through all the gears, and stops straight and true. AC has not been diagnosed but likely does not function and has not been converted. Steering and suspension are in great shape. It is easy and extremely fun to drive. Tires and brakes are brand new, steering and suspension are all tight. It really is an excellent driver!

We performed a full tune-up on the vehicle, including new spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, air filter, and PCV valve. All rubber parts were inspected and any that showed cracking or wear was replaced. One brake caliper that was slightly sticky was replaced as well. All fluids were changed, including oil and coolant. I would absolutely not hesitate to drive this car anywhere with confidence. This is a very decent example of an original, unrestored 80's performance classic!
