I have owned several Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars over the years in my opinion the Rolls Royce's and Bentleys that come up for sale are pretty much fall into two categories . .the first category would be the pristine / mint condition "showcars" with extremely low miles and extremely high price tags of $30,000-$50,000+ for same model as mine . . . then there is the other extreme where there are cars are "basketcases"and sell for $4000-$6,000that need thousands or tens of thousands of dollars worth of work to be drivable / enjoyable very rarely do "middle ground" cars come up. I would assume it's because people are driving them and enjoying them. . . .THIS IS THAT CAR !

one of the previous owners of the Rolls was a man named Swingin' Dave Collert if you google his name you will see hewas a very interesting guitarist from Santa Monica,Ca.with played with some of the top names in the music business (check it out its very interesting) in fact there is a set of floor mats in the trunk thatare monogrammed with the word "Swing" in red script. I even found a blank check under the seat that belonged to him. he passed away in 2014. thie car was purchased from his estate. I found a pair of California license plates in the trunk that say "LA FIN" I'm assuming they were his and have some meaning. he had Citroen's, a Lamborghini and this Rolls Royce.

one GREAT feature is that someone along the way converted the headlamps to the European style (upgrade from the two pair of small sealed beam) these headlamp units alone sell on eBay (if you can FIND them) for $1,800 for a pair, I'm my opinion they change the entire look of the car. . .it goes without saying this car has the usual long list of power and luxury features all of which seem to work fine. a couple of the windows are little slow occasionally but they all do work it has an aftermarket AM/FM CD with remote that works fine the original radio and mounting hardware are in the trunk. GREAT tires, there are two Rolls Royce umbrellas and a Rolls Royce blanket that go with the car.also hasone year old custom fit car cover, a ROLLS ROYCElicense plate frame, the carhas a clear / clean Massachusetts title and bill of sale

one area of concern that ALL Rolls Royce's have is the brakes - NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT HERE ! - the brakes were completely redone a few years ago bya very well known Rolls Royce dealer in Los Angeles called Albers - the brakes are perfect when you start the car the brake pressure light stays on for 10 or 15 seconds (as they should) and then completely extinguish. there is no sponginess there's no low pedal the brakes are perfect . . .NO issues with suspension. another thing is this car does not leak oil or any other fluids. I have a cement floor garage that is a immaculate. the car does not leak anything I was very impressed with that.

I take this car to car shows all the time it is amazing the amount of attention it gets. people just absolutely love it and it really is a beautiful car, boyif I had $1 for every person that asked if they could take a picture with it . . . . .there are no major glaring defects to the car. nothing that makes you say "ooh that's too bad" . . .there does not seem to be anything missing. liketrim orhubcaps that sort of thing everything is to be in place, the Rolls Royce "Spirit of Ecstasy" mascot and grill are beautiful

I had the car completely tuned up last year (which I paid $1460 for)it's running great and will give you many years of good service. a point worth mentioning is spare parts for this car are readily available on eBay and other websitesand relatively inexpensive. due to the age of the car there's no computers and you don't need special tools any qualified technician can work on this car as a matter fact my mechanic is a certified Mercedes mechanic and hadnever worked on a Rolls-Royce before and was so impressed with how easy it was to work on

I think Rolls Royce's and British cars in general get an undeserved bad rap for being hard to deal with.I have owned Rolls, Bentley, Range Rover, Jaguar, Austin Mini's . . . can they be quirky ? sure. . but the upsidefar outweighs the downside. . .in my opinion.

another thing definitely worth mentioning is that because of the age of the vehicle. it can be registered and insured very inexpensively as an antique or classic vehicle. I do not have the numbers in front of me but I think we had full coverage from bumper-to-bumper for under a thousand dollars a year if memory serves.

I have owned this car for a little over a year and everywhere I go I am asked about it people compliment me on it. they want to know more about it. it shows very well it drives very well (I do not have any records or books for the car) I do have the CD "service manual" that is included.. I do believe the car was repainted it one time overall the paint looks great but keep in mind this is a 35-year-old car and has the expected dings and scratches. There something about the Masons black over the red Connolly leather interior that is just such a striking combination.VERY beautiful.

the virtually indestructible V8 motor starts up quickly and run smoothly,NO smoke NO ticking NO knocks NO issues, the transmission (which I had completely serviced last year) shifts flawlessly the air-conditioning worked fine last year. it's just not blowing ice cold this year. headliner looks great, does not seem to have any electrical issues,as far as the interior goes the wood overall is good withexpected flaws, the seat leather bottoms on the front seats were redone before I owned it.I always meant to redye the seat backs and rear seats. I do not believe the need replacing they just need to be dyed. no holes, no splits no deep cracks just the usual surface wear / drying, the leather trim around the rear doors needs to be reset/glued (common issue) I just never got around to it, and the leather on the armrests needs to be redone(I always have them in up position). overall its in FAR above average condition. you however must keep in mind its almost 35 years old and ANY car of this agewill have dings, scrapes, dents, rust, scratches, wear, etc.there is nothing glaringly objectionable, it has a trunk badge from a Silver Spur IIonit (notsure why it was changed) makes no difference just wanted to mention it.
