1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Limousine like without Driver Division Additional Info:

This is one of only 121 Long Wheel Base Silver Cloud 1 Rolls-Royces built from November 1957 to July 1959. At introduction the 127" LWB model cost much more at 6,893.95 GBP compared to 5,,693.85 GBP for a standard 123" WB model. The 127" LWB vehicle is 170 lbs heavier, weighing 4750 lbs.The car for sale rides on the 45th Long Wheel Base Chassis for the year built in September 1958, equipped with Park Ward body and shipped from Liverpool to New York in November 1958 as 1959 model. It is the American Left Hand Drive Specifications down to Lucas Special Export Headlights.Park Ward successfully modified standard bodies into longer ones: having received a 4" longer chassis,Park Wardtook the Pressed Steel standard body, cut it, made 4" inserts into the roof and the floor, made longer rear doors and windows behind them which the Brits call "quarter-lights". The doors, bonnet (hood) and boot (trunk) panels are made of aluminium alloy.I have the Build History Documents according to which the car is all Number-Matching: the Chassis is No. LBLC45, body No. 052, etc. The engine and engine head match the Building Documents. The Build History specifies a lot of numbers, such as crankshaft and spring drive numbers. This car was prudently ordered without power options, because in those days electric motors were noisy and unreliable. Even the aerial (antenna) mast is manually telescoping. This 17 feet 11 inches limousine long vehicle was orderedwithout the Driver Division (requiring an electrically operated division glass) and without picnic tables that rear passengers would have to lean forward to reach because of the very generous legroom not encumbered by the Driver Division. The front seat was ordered with a bench squab (back) and both seats have flat leather surfaces. All windows' frames are made of stainless steel. The car has a lid for the driver side second glove box, where most of these cars have an open cubby. It comes with the Correct Owner's Manual, Built History Copies, Jack, Air Pump and all other Large and Small Tools, including inspection light.
The Interior is unrestored. it is the matter of preference. I prefer a worn authenticity to "pimped up" cars with new substandard leather work, CD player and Best Buy speakers in the doors, like we see a lot. This car has a working original His Master's Voice Radio with an extrafactoryspeaker by the rear window. It also has an electric rear window defroster done so well that you can hardly see the heating elements in theglass.
I have checked the maximum speed the car could achieve in 105F degree August 2017 Oregon heat on HWY 26 West of Portland. It reached 105 MPH (Don't forward to the cops please), what the owner's manual says it should do. The compression in the cylinders (with the fuel pump fuse removed and all fuel in the carburetors burned) checked on 7/31/2017 was as follows:1) 135,2) 140,3) 140,4) 130,5) 135,6) 135.These two facts testify to an unworn engine. The car easily cruises at 70-80MPH and out-accelerates many other cars from traffic lights.
Reasonable offers are always welcome, but I am not desperate to get rid of this car.
